Doing hard work or things that challenge you doesn't give you instant gratification. You push yourself harder than ever, afterwards you'll feel the pleasure from the said activity. This is delayed gratification. An easy way to identify instant gratification is when you feel said "gratification" feeling when in the act of an activity. Eating sweet food, video games, fapping etc.

@Joe Online he didn't need it explained to him. He's saying that the gratification he receives from working out is not related to the long term results like aesthetics or maximal strength gain. He enjoys the instant gratification he receives in the gym, like completing a hard set, getting a mean pump, etc. You can't gatekeep the word; you just have a very basic understanding of the idea.
@ivoryas1696

@@thundabearz5092 Honestly wouldn't say he's gatekeeping any more than someone saying that you "have to yearn for the right thing" (there are plenty of legitimately good benefits to exercise that _virtually _*_only_* give delayed gratification, so not sure what he's saying "the right thing is"). I wouldn't say there's an easy way to identify it, but alot of things that _don't_ qualify are things you get from consistent exercise.

I was just talking to my buddy about this. The worst part of weight loss, even when it's consistent, is how fucking long it takes. In the era of instant gratification, where we can get anything at the tips of our fingers, body recompisition, whether it's adding muscle or losing fat, takes months even years. I lost 27 pounds in 4 months (257 down to 230) and then just hit a wall. Couldn't grind anymore, lost the motivation, gained 10 back over the next year. And I'm back at it. I've lost 10 pounds the last 20 days. Can't stop, won't stop till I hit my goal weight of 190 (my old high school wrestling weight).

True. The only way to win at life, in realistic conditions and even rules - is to accept the imminence of success being in the long term rather than short term and embark on it. Investing - 20 years for certain profits, gym - 10 years of consistence, learning - whole life.

@ivoryas1696

Did the rest of the exercises showered and stretched etc . felt like a different man in a better mood walking out, I was even singing along with the radio as I walked out to my car.
I tell myself I’m better than 90% of people who don’t do shit and that motivates me to continue and get stronger and better
The one thing that keeps me going is the feeling that yes i have achieved something in yhe morning. That keeps me going through the entire day. May be your body will take time to shape up but your mind does it instantly. And it never bores you down

every single day...i go to workout... but in evening..cause i got classes at morning 🥺
It teaches you delayed gratification. He teaches you that if you want it you have to do it yourself because nobody can do it for you. Working out really teaches us a lot about real life.
Best way is learn about fitness. The learning process replaces the gratification that's getting delayed.
I needed to hear this. Thanks 🙏🏼
Great physique. How long you been working out?
This applies to nearly every area of study. Every game, expression, career etc. should be taken as an investment into your future
You don't see immediate results but you feel immediate results.
careful stretching when muscles r cold
I prefer to go back to sleep. Gym time is in the evening tho.
Endorphins are actually an instant gratification
he's got a point,it's stressful how slow the change is,it makes you wanna give up

I was just thinking that a few days ago during training. I looked in the mirror like: yuk! I wanted to leave and never return but what keeps me going is how much stronger I am. When I hear one of my coaches say: I see you! I SEE YOU! It ignites me to keep pushing
You forgot to add how hard good nutrition is. You will never out work a bad diet.
what is this song?

Night rider
I was thinking I would just go at night.
I learned delayed gratification from skateboarding when it took me years to be able to do something like a laser flip. Working out on the other hand, I get results from every single workout
Hello, what's the audio used please ? Thank you !!

Bro i work 2 jobs and spend 5 to 6 hours after work is that bad for me
I workout every morning since it makes me go to bed earlier and have a good start of the day. If im not working out early morning it leads to more drinking, smoking, bad foods and depressing thoughts. This is a better alternative. More mentally even.
Imagine all that energy for muscles was put into reading, education and work.

That dude be like: my syndrome might be down but my muscles be up
I don’t know about y’all, but working out right after I wake up just makes my entire day/mood better. Days that I don’t get my work out in are significantly different from days that I do.💪🏼
I was just talking to my buddy about this.
Been doing it for 30yrs! I'm almost 50 and still love the gym. I don't think I have a normal mind 😂
True. The only way to win at life, in realistic conditions and even rules - is to accept the imminence of success being in the long term rather than short term and embark on it. Investing - 20 years for certain profits, gym - 10 years of consistence, learning - whole life.
This is why people that know, make it a lifestyle to workout along with work, and side hustles.
Mental health is a big thing that gets in the way of stuff like this
The gratification is the workout itself. You forget the outside world with all its problems.
My daughter plays this song, the beginning bit used to be scary, took me at least 20 listens until I got into it.
Man i agree with this a lot. Started out last year 88kgs 5'9 btw. Now I'm 75kgs with all the hard work i put in through the year. Feeling much better health-wise and even quit smoking.
4:30a wake up…prayers, meditation & gym - daily. Absolutely love it.
Pushing away dark thoughts in the gym The moment where you can only concentrate on your rep because of physical exhaustion is mental freedom
Bro it goes so much deeper than just working out, but good start
So based on this information, Ive learned that going to the gym every night is rhe path to immediste results. Ty
