She is a pretty gypsy... Romanian who moved to Italy then to Ottawa Canada then back to Italy.. She said she is now 32 years old. And she is a fan of Sharon den Adel.

This goes to show you how much vocal talent there must be in the world, when you can literally just find someone online, who's never been in an established band (basically an unknown) who has this sort of vocal talent. Will always love Charlotte and I really dig the stuff she is putting out now, but it's nice to hear new Delain as well.

Well you definitely Summed up everything about a symphonic metal breakdown. I'm still a die-hard Delain fan anyway so I can't wait for more. Excellent reaction.

Hardest job is to be a new singer in an established band. The comparisons are sure to come and Diana has done such a wonderful job. I remember when Lacey Sturm left Flyleaf and the new singer came in, she was not treated well by fans because of the comparison which is said, each singer are their own individual and you don't want to try and be the person that left, you need to be who you are,

I can't wait till they come to the USA I hope they come to Florida in the winter or Upstate New York in the summer

WOW!! Martijn did hell of a good effort here! Diana is lit! Harsh vocals point on!! Bringing on Diana and two of the OG members. This is a beautiful banger for sure approved with the Tauri chills and stank face lol!! Diana is a headbanger too! I really like her crystal crown get up, maybe she will wear it in concerts. Can’t imagine the pressure on her right now to fill the huge shoes left by the amazing Charlotte whom I love. I read Martijn stating they will tour USA next year Tauri…I am SO there! Oh and SO SO sorry you cannot make the EPICA concert….but understandable. Love EPICA like no other!

That's okay, there will always be next time... family are more important considering I haven't seen them in 3 years.

I didn't want to like this song...I didn't want to at all...but I do...I really like it...her vocals are amazing and fit perfect with Martjin's song style...Delain to me will always be Charlotte .. I can't help it.. but I really really like this song...and I LOVE your reaction...unbiased and amazing as always ..

DELAIN's new singer is Diana Orga, who is Romanian born and currently Italian resident and professionally known as Diana Leah.

It definitely sucks what happened to this band but after listening to the new song, it sounds like Delain so I suppose I'll give it a chance. Bands have lineup changes all the time so I suppose this is no different. I was lucky enough to have seen Delain several times over the years on their US tours so I'll always have that. Another band that lost half it's members recently was Xandria. You should check out their new song You Will Never Be Our God. It's a killer song. Fun Fact: The "new" guitar player and drummer are actually former members of Delain who have returned to the fold. They were on older albums like April Rain.

They both sound good.

@@joseluisdonoso8522 They only resigned though because Martijn came to them all in 2020 and basically wanted to go back and make Delain his own band again like it originally was, so for the musicians to become musicians-for-hire and not function as a band anymore, and also not to really tour as much anymore, which led to damaged relationships that couldn’t work anymore. They all were supposedly trying to work it out, but it didn’t work…

@@joyfulosity You are misinformed. Actually It was completely the other way around. The three guys in the band wanted to get rid of Martijn. He wanted to keep things as they were. It already was his band in the first place. So he had no motive to change that. What he is releasing right now with Delain also proves this.

I am very pleased with this new Delain song! Love it!!! Me and my friend have tickets for their show on 4th of November at Hedon in Zwolle, the Netherlands. And really can't wait for the new album!

Diana looks to be the perfect choice. There are some parts in this song where she sounds just like Charlotte. The only thing I know about Diana is that she was amostly a Trance vocalist. I'm not even sure how to pronounce her last name (Lee or Lee-ah?) so I'll go with your version for now. She has several Within Temptation covers on KZread that are very good. I'm particular to her collaboration with a male singer on "Mad World" which is just excellant!. You should check those out when you get a chance as I think you'll enjoy them Thanks for the reaction to this song.. I really enjoyed it.

In Epica, almost all the guys are doing the growl nowadays. Mark, Arien, Isaac, Coen and perhaps, even Rob. Haha

Martijn would have kept it going as just a project. But once the first drummer Sander and the Ronald came back things changed. Now will Ronald and Sander stick around long. Depends. But it's a mix of new and old members here.

I don't understand why so many people decided that Delain ceased to exist, although Martijn immediately made a statement that he was going to continue.

With the vocalising near the end, she sounds like Sharon den Adel! But it still sounds like Delain

Joey was there for only 2 years. He is just a small footnote in the history of Delain. Merel only contributed only one one song for Delain.

@@kiskethekeeper I know and merel was there for 2 years also and I’ve seen this band live twice. It’s going to be weird seeing other singer/musicians playing songs that Charlotte wrote. I personally don’t think they should’ve been allowed to carry on

When I found out Charlotte and the other members basically left the band after they tried to reconcile things with Martijn, I was devastated. I thought Delain was essentially dead because Charlotte's voice is so iconic and memorable. It made the band what it is for me. Then this video came out and I was doubtful at first, but I went into it and was BLOWN AWAY. Diana Leah is the PERFECT choice and what's crazy is that she seems virtually new to this world and completely unknown in the music scene. I don't know how they managed to find her, let alone someone to actually replace Charlotte, since those are huge shoes to fill, but they did. If I didn't know Charlotte had left the band and I just played this song without the video, I wouldn't have even thought it was someone else. That's how similar Diana's voice sounds to Charlotte's. It's absolutely incredible and the song itself is a banger. I'm SO excited to see what the album has in store for us now. Delain lives on!

I think mainly because Diana did cover some of symphonic metal songs on her channel, and Martijn probably found her through there.

I am surprised by the fact that they find the voices of Diana and Charlotte similar, for me they are not alike at all, Diana has a more youthful voice (suddenly she has vocal tones similar to Sharon den Adel from Within Temptation) and Charlotte has a voice more nasal and vibratory, so I don't find them to be very similar.

The sound of this song has a distinctly Delain-esque vibe to it. Although, I would probably that Martijn´s foray into music with a more substantial orchestral elements seems to have influenced how this was composed and arranged. It sounds like they changed the mixing formula a little bit. Harsh vocals are good and add to the song, in my opinion. Diana´s voice simply works as there is a certain similarity to Charlotte´s. It is less twangy and abrasive, which I dont mind, but even so it does not get drown within the mix. And she is pretty.

After hearing this track I really am looking forward to hearing more. Great stuff!!

Diana sounds far more like early Sharon den Adel than Charlotte Wessels. If you hear her cover of Memories you would think it was Sharon. Thats in no way a bad thing in my opinion.
