I think the Spurs are closer to a win-now team than you might think. Also, OKC is not a rebuilding team, it is a potential contender.

@@lilolittle3131 Yea I know OKC and the Spurs have a lot of draft capital. I think they're ahead of schedule for sure, but a team that finishes at #`1 in the conference should be considered at the very least a contender.

If I'm the Spurs, there's very little the Hawks could offer to make me give the Hawks their picks back. The Hawks are going to be bad next year. If I'm the Spurs, I want to be bad next year too. Currently the Spurs have four first round picks in 2025. They have their own (reason to be bad on purpose,) the unprotected Hawks, Top 10 protected Bulls, & Top 14 protected Charlotte.

Dyson’s problem is not that he was never given an opportunity. He lacks confidence in his offensive game. He is very hesitant to shoot the ball.

I would argue he was given more opportunities than he deserved in New Orleans (he started many games this past season while CJ was hurt and played a lot of minutes over Alvarado, Naji, Hawkins, and even Trey Murphy at times), but I do hope he is able to figure it out in Atlanta.

It'd be stupid of the Spurs to bail the Hawks out right now. Keeping the picks is the smart move

It's a pretty fair trade, it's just that what the Pels gave up was extras and maybes, for a solid PG on a good contract. Total win for the Pels, I think DM will fit better and play better for us. Nance was a turnover machine last quarter of last year and needs a new contract, he'll be overpaid. Dyson love his def potential, but he was an offensive liability, and needs a shot of confidence driving the lane, too many kickouts when he had an ez layup. The two firsts were xtras for us, no big loss there...

The Spurs have said multiple times they are not interested in Trae Young. They just skipped picking Rob Dillingham who is a Trae young copy for less money, and picked a PG that is tall intentionally. Stop talking about the Hawks getting their picks back. Zero percent chance the Spurs are going to milk Atlanta for all they can

I don’t like the fact that Ingram, Murray, and Cj operate in the same areas and aren’t really floor spacers. Cj can hit threes but he is more of a mid range killer. Zion needs space and if Murray can provide that then great but CJ will have to be their shooter. He has been great the last few years shooting wise but we will see.

It must really suck to lose a very good player like Murray. He didn't quite work out as well as hoped, but his potential was still amazing. Now Dyson Daniels is not a #8 pick for no reason, he is a top defensive player. He can even lead a 2nd unit as a ball handler and his short midrange game is deadly. If he can get his shooting to be a little more consistant and expand his game, he will be a great asset to have for many years. I will dread the day he will be on Ingram or Murray and guard the hell out of my team's players :S

@@denzel8827 That is actually quite funny. Funny or not, I think the difference in work ethic, attitude and straight up effectiveness compared to salary makes Dyson a far better prospect in every way than Ben Simmons. (at least now)

I'm not sure what point you're trying to make. Nance is an incredibly versatile defender who would fit on any team. There's a reason he was in the Pelicans' closing lineups. I can easily see him getting the Hawks a late 1st at the deadline.

Thank god the backcourt of dyson daniels and herb jones is gone. That was a defensive nightmare to play against.

Dejounte shot 36% from three on over 7 attempts a game last season. He doesn't "fix" the 3pt volume issue for New Orleans, but he also doesn't hurt it. He does however give them a floor general, which they've badly needed. Point Zion is awesome, but Zion is going to miss games every season. And you can't have that be your only look.

If I’m the pels I’m calling up wolves and swapping Ingram for kat straight up.

I have an interesting idea on the trade front: you do an Ingram trade to Cleveland for Strus and Allen, and make that all part of a sign and trade package involving Naji Marshall, who they’re also unlikely to keep but is a good role player, volume of 3’s and his streakiness from outside is a concern but at 6’7 220 he can play some 4, he’s a good slasher, decent to good rebounder, and a strong defender who doesn’t foul a ton. Losing Strus would hurt there, but they are getting stronger on the wing in return, and New Orleans gets the veteran defensive 5 they’ve been wanting and either another shooting wing off the bench or a guy who can be flipped (with probably a protected pick or two) for, say, Jonathan Isaac since they Magic really need the shooting and Isaac is an intriguing player going forward even with the injury concerns, has some streakiness shooting but would primarily be a backup 4 who you can slot 3-5 and is another defensive terror.

I concur, however, you have to talk the Cavs into paying BI longterm. I flip Strus because I want Jordan Hawkins to get minutes because that kid can shoot. If not Issac than maybe Walker Kessler or Kessler Walker from Utah.

Yeah those two are like the ideal 3/d wings and they are both starting level players. And if Naji comes back that’s another quality player off the bench that would fill that role.

Ingram for Jarret Allen would be the perfect trade for New Orleans and the Cavs.

No the hawks got fleeced or however you worded it. He was only playing bad because his usage dropped significantly, he’s as good an all around player as Mikal Bridges, if he’s worth six picks Dejounte is worth at least 5 with the current market.

Wouldnt it be a difference in what team is more desperate fort a championship though? The Knicks prolly valued Mikal more than the Pels valued Dejonte(Because of the fit) and thus the Knicks were more willing to part away with picks than the Pels. I dont think any other team gives 6 picks to the nets(Prolly 2/3+role player) and thats how much the Pels were willing to give the Hawks
