I'm still a bit worried about all the good guys that left. A few to get Dejounté in, which hurt as Dyson and Larry were awesome to have. It hurts that we lost JV, despite him not actually fitting the basketball style NO wants to play, he was an amazing worker, incredibly reliable basketball player and just a great guy. Most of all it is going to hurt missing Naji. He is a true pelican style player, certainly one of the most tenacious of all pelicans. A creative guy, someone that got other players' backs in every way and someone I am very happy he landed on the Mavs, where he probably will get an increased role, potentially as a starter next to Luka and Kyrie. That said, if we can get a center somewhere that really fits .. and preferably not giving up BI for it, I'm really excited to see this new team with Dejounté in action.

Let's pray for Ingram to actualy stay on the team, there is so much noise out there for him to be traded. I really hope they can play together. If Ingram can take some of his midrange shots a little more outside the threepoint line, it can probably work.

Hawks fan here. You are going to like this guy a lot. I absolutely hated to see him go. Don't be fooled by anyone telling that he is not a good defensive player. Playing with Trae Young, Hawks players are asked to do a little more than they should defensively. He doesn't miss a lot of games and he seems well-rounded off the court. He truly wanted to be in Atlanta which is what bothers me the most. You guys back court is going to be suffocating because Dejounte is a way better defensive player than he showed in Atlanta.
@pinobluevogel6458
21 күн бұрын
Atlanta is a great offensive team, but there are not many players on the roster besides Murray (formerly) that were defensive minded. If you do not have the culture, it can be really hard to cultivate it. At the Pelicans, this situation is reversed, the culture is really defense minded. Part of this is Herb, Naji and Alvarado (and formerly Larry Nance) really firing everyone up, but just having enough defensive talent (like Dyson Daniels) will really help the overall outlook a lot. If Atlanta can make use of both Larry and Dyson, I think you might get to see a few more results. Those players, while not bad on other things, are really dedicated defenders, you will certainly see that in action if they all stay.

Hard to say if Pelicans have much of that already cause they’re all low key but getting someone they isn’t afraid to call someone up when they aren’t doing something right is something they all need. Pelicans have that stoic mindset (everyone except Alvarado), but having someone that is a little bit more vocal will help. I love the attitude that players like BI have, but on a team that also needs to communicate, it helps if a few guys are more talkative.
This is a great young man, he's worth everything we gave up for him,and more David Griffin, and the rest of our Staff have done a terrific Job Adding D. Murray, to our team I can't wait. 😅😊

@@ben1ben2ben1 Even if he is on the chopping block as a trade, doing that now, when the market for him is very low, would be foolish. No matter if anyone wants BI to get traded or if they want to desperately keep him, the Pels need to wait to at least up his value, let him play into his contract. If they let him run and he plays well, showing the signs of the top player he always was, instead of the bad few games he had coming back from injury at the start of the playoffs, his value is definitely going to increase. There is always time to trade him at the deadline if it is really needed.

This most definitely is my sleeper team for this season coming, don’t think ppl understand what this team can achieve barring there is no injuries
The lock down abilities of Murry & jones defensively( Murry 678 carrer steals, 324 for Jones ), will make the pelicans top 5 defensively. I could see them playing those passing lanes and creating havoc on the wings. Defense wins championships 🔒 🏀👋🏾!!!

Pelicans were already top 5 defensively. I dont mind having Murray on the roster, as he is a two-way player .. and a high talent one too, but don't act like we improve defensively. We just lost 3 of our main rotation defensive players, one of which was the 2nd best on the team. (Dyson)

Pay him? He wants over 50 million and he is not worth anything close to that. If we pay BI we wont have money to re sign Trey. BI is gone. With Murray on the team, BI has no roll on the team unless he switches to more off ball with volume 3s (which he wont)
We were stupid to give up Griffin he is a beast at being a GM getting rid of him for Kolby has been disastrous.

Yall crazy as hell if yall try to get rid of BI the team just got better but we also lost some depth all it takes is one lil injury and you need ppl like BI to be there if anything just get off McCollum but no one wants him and they don’t wanna do it cuz he a vet and the nba players president or whatever😂 CJ a dog on offense when he’s on but he dribble too much and he’s small even if BI ain’t the best defender he still has length to make plays

@@lstheprodigy7761 It's a team sport, no matter how you put it. If they can somehow get these guys together more off the court, that can and most likely will increase their effectiveness on the court. We often see teams of 'professionals' fail as they have zero chemistry on the court. Yes, you need good players to compete, but you also need the synergy of a great team culture. Look at Boston, their individual talent level is high, but not much higher than other competative teams. The fact that they play together really well, stick to both their offensive and defensive plans and cover for eachother's mistakes makes them a top team, not the fact that they are all 'good players'.
