Your analogy of cutting one finger into two does not hold water. Anioma state as sixth state for the SE is a cheat to all Igbos, including Anioma Igbos. The SE deserves a sixth state cut from Imo and Anambra States or from Imo.

I am from igbanke, we speak Ika-Igbo language. We were unjustly carved into Edo State by the then governor or Bendel state because his mother was from my Igbanke and the father from Benin. In Edo State we have no say and they don't see us as part of them. Biko, Imagine my local govt is called "Orhionmwon" Benin language which I don't understand a thing. And I am tired of explaining to people that I speak Igbo language and yet I am from Edo State, it sounds silly.

@OwethuDlulani-ll9xu the Ika and Ikwerre people are the ancestors of the Igbos. It is on record that present day Anambra people are migrants from the Anioma area, particularly, Isele Uku area of the region. Igbos need to be humble and respect the Ika people. Also, maybe Igbos can start thinking of changing the tribe name or choosing to use the name of the original tribes which are Ika or Ikwerre.

At least he tried by speaking up when others were quiet. We have to commend Ikenga Ugochinyere for being proactive in his reasoning and pursuits. But we have to go for Anioma State. How I wish it could involve some parts of Kogi, Rivers and Edo States.

I am from Ebonyi State, one of the 5 South East States. I strongly support the proposed Anioma State.

Iam from Enugu. Immediately I saw this bill ,I was excited. Anioma is our people that was separated from southeast due to politics from past Nigerian govt. This imbalance would have been corrected if our earlier senators have been a true voice to the people just like we are clamouring for electronic voting to get the best leaders, restructuring to make every sector manage their resources, etc

Finally, people are beginning to identify with their root. Nice one 👍

The East has access to the sea. The problem is the politics. Igboland was balkanized by Northern military rulers with the sole purpose of reducing us. There are a lot of Igbo communities on the edge of the sea that were carved into Rivers State

When we achieve Anioma, our next focus will be channelled towards bringing in our people in rivers state to make us seven states. Fulanis can not come from nowhere to achieve about seven states in Nigeria while the orignal owners will be having fives and sixs.

Anioma is in the Southsouth, talk has been for creation of a merited 6th state in the SE. Nwoko just said: "they have five states" refering to the SE as they. Anioma people will not even agree to be part of the SE. Orlu zone has 12 local government areas. Anioma has only 9. Why would anyone think of msking Anioma a sixth state in the SE instead of the long time proposed Orlu state?

That is my position my brother, you dey see far. During election many of them will they're igbos, after we have fought for additional state to south east, they are now coming to grab it . If this is going to happen, there should be historical correction by telling their children the truth that they are igbos because the children of anioma people have told that they are not igbos just like other regions having igbo speaking people have also been told that they are but only come out to claim, they are igbos when something is be given to igbos.

Because he gets a interest to rule delta state before the governor sit will return back to Delta Igbo it will take another 16 years ago that is the reason why you want to share delta state because if you had 16 years join he age he had closer to his retirement that is why he want to share delta State because he have interest to become a governor of delta state whether he divide delta into 2 if God say you will never rule as a governor there's no way for Regina Daniels husband become the governor because is thinking about his age, that is the reason why he want to share delta state so that he will become a governor for that new state he requested for
