Thank you very much! I was able to pull the trigger on the mic featured here. I was long thinking between which microphone to get, how much to spend... do I get a separate ( ~100 €/$) boom arm or not and then I find out that Deity has a whole assembly kit with everything included for around ~180 € (with all taxes and transport costs included.) I was also seriously considering BEACN MIC ( which in pricing is between SHURE SM7B and Deity VO 7U), however it has very small representation (difficult/expensive shipping) to anywhere outside US... As much as we all like the best (and usually expensive) things, finding something for less of a price and with small (or in this case close to none) sacrifices also makes me very glad. Thank you very much!

Thank you for the review! I am trying to make my VO-7U sound like yours, but it sounds more "muffled" and almost like I have a stuffed nose. What EQ settings are you using? Also, what gain level do you have on the mic? Does the limiter reduce the voice quality even when I don't talk too loud? I have it set at 45% just in case. Should I increase it? Thank you in advance!

I applied no eq, just a little compression to even it out. I was using mine at about 75% gain, also I had it a bit away from my mouth, wasn’t right on top of it.

If you are using the headphone jack on the mic, it’s going to sound muffled. It’s an issue with the mic.

I could actually tell which microphone was which and much prefer the high roll off of the SM7b but like the practicality of the Deity -- can you apply a EQ roll off to get a more similar sound to the SM7b while podcasting?

Literally just got it yesterday and this is correct. The headphone amp is pretty bad in it. The microphone itself is fantastic but I would say monitoring is the only con for me. I went from Blue Yeti which I felt like has great monitoring so kind of bummed but there are work arounds for me.

Said I’d give an update. I returned it lol I tried splitters and other things that would still make it “plug and play”. After it all, headphone output still terrible. Their customer service in my experience is pretty bad. Once they got the mic, refund came quick but prior was pulling teeth.
