Deion has always been and always will be about himself. If his goal is to get his sons to Dallas , its going to be a trainwreck and I am here for it. This guy has never had an ounce of genuine humility and compassion for others and when his sons fail at the next level , he will blame everyone else.

Univ of Hawaii football was 0-12 in 1998. In 1999, June Jones took over and led UH to the biggest turnaround in NCAA history by going 9-4 with a bowl win over Oregon State. That was before this portal nonsense, so it was with the same team that was 0-12 the year before, normal roster turnover notwithstanding. It's called being a coach. Deion should try it sometime.

Speaking as a D2 Coach, coached in the PSAC for a # of yrs, ‘09 being my first.. Edinboro U went 0-11 in ‘15 & then went 11-0, the next, in ‘16.. NEVER thought I’d see that happen in that conference.. first yr coach that was the special teams coordinator @ Syracuse, before he took job that yr.. He left after season lol, he knew what it would be from there on out… But after seeing that happen in that scholarship deficient conference with that scholarship deficient school? Deion has no case @ last yr being any kind of true improvement…They should’ve done that, new roster, new coaches… Opponents had no idea what to expect…

To someone who has never played college football this makes sense. To people who actually played college football and higher, you would know the head coach actually does very little coaching. The best head coaches put good people around them and set the culture. The actual X's and O's of football is done by the assistant coaches FYI.

@@chrisreid4711 I'm well aware of this (and I have plenty of football experience), but I still agree with the original post, because the bottom line is, he does not want to put in the time and patience to adequately develop players, and adequately develop a true program and a true culture. So his overall point is still correct Deion is trying to accelerate the process of all that by poaching guys from other programs who have theoretically already been developed at the college level, instead of doing it the right way, and integrating high school recruits into his program and developing them over time (whether it's actually him or his assistants teaching them technique, etc., is irrelevant--the end result is the same). He's doing this because he's really only there for himself, for his sons, and for Travis Hunter. But it can't be done this way. You can't rush that process and "cheat" and cut corners in the way that Deion is trying to do. He should know this, considering the fact that he's been involved with football his entire life, but his arrogance is blinding him. His approach won't work, and he will leave CU worse off than before. He will be outta there as soon as the three players he cares about are outta there. He was a disastrous hire for that program. The AD and everyone else are complete fools.

They say you can judge a man by the men that he makes, IE his kids. And this offseason alll we have heard is that his sons are going down the same road that he did as a young football player. What I mean is they're glorifying the money and the women, and wanting all the celebrity. That's why Jason Whitlock says there's nothing about this man that screams I submit my life to Christ! He's what they call a Bible belt Christian. He's a Christian in name only. Because the position that God has put him in if he was really a man submitting his life to Christ and a man that's been called to help young boys become men he would not be pointing them at all these rappers glorifying sex, drugs, degrading women and hustling. But because they've got money to Prime money equals success(no matter what you did to get the money) and that's all that matters! And that's who he points his players to emulate. That's not the goal for the believer, but it looks like that's what Deon has communicated is important to his children. It's really sad that he's pointing his sons down the same destructive road He went down that almost led to him taking his life at one point. When you look to the world to be fulfilling when we're supposed to look to God to fulfill that hole in our soul you'll be left disappointed. It doesn't matter how much money you have, drugs you consume or women you consume you will be left feeling empty and hopeless!

I am still mad at Colorado State coach Jay Norvell for going for the tie and overtime instead of the win with a 2 point conversion. If the Rams score the 2 pointer to win it, all of the air would be let out of the stadium and Prime would have had his tail between his legs on the way out.

I have personally observed Deon from back in the days of the "TRUTH" pee wee days. This model of football is exactly what he has been doing since his sons could play. Football and baseball. Stacking teams with top athletes and having success at the beginning. Until he gets figured out, then its all downhill from there.
