once heard someone say "compaines will try to persuade you into thinking that their bubble bath bombs are self care but self care is taking that time apart from your work to just be at peace with yourself, whether it's taking a bath, doing a hobby, whatever. that is real self-care. you are just wasting your money."

if you buy an iPad for study, it will be useful if you sketch or design or 3D modulate on it, not just for notes The iPad is useful for creative people and is unlikely to help you be more productive, it just helps you have a place to draw on hand

and for my friends who want to go into arts or animation, it has procreate which is a significantly cheaper alternative to fancy drawing tablets + allows animation

exactly. as an artist and person who likes digital, but hand-written notes, a touch screen device is a MUST. as an artist, I also simply cant give up procreate. but for people who dont want to draw, a samsung galaxy tablet might actually be a better choice.

@@thesleepydot yes! tablets are a much cheaper alternative. plus when you live in asian countries, you have entrance exams instead of grades/extracirrcular based college admissions, and these entrance exams take 2-6 years to prepare for. it is so much easier to have 6 years worth of notes on your tablet rather than paper. and we're talking about some of the hardest exams in the world here: IIT-JEE, Gaokao, Suneung, NEET.

29:45 I agree! Also, cosmetic/skin care induced rash/acne is a thing. Drenching your skin with 10+ products one by one can actually ruin it! 😢 Also, any toner that I've used only made my skin drier and even caused break outs:(

Be a mindful consumer and enjoy the things you have! The last thing i bought for myself other than groceries was a samsung tablet for drawing digital art 2 months ago. I got a s6 lite because it was super discounted since its an older generation and i've made a point to use it every single day since i bought it!

I understand what second lady is saying about swaddling but it really just depends on your kid. I would ONLY sleep with a swaddle and even when I was a toddler I had to sleep in a hoodie because I needed the compression. As an adult i sleep with a weighted blanket. The womb is naturally compressive and some babies do better with that feeling. Of course, I know many people who say they would hate a weighted blanket because they’d feel trapped but really i think it depends on your personal preference. Same with your baby. I’d always try both methods for your first kid and see what they like.

Yeah. As soon as I heard her say she was a Montessori mom I was suspicious of her giving advice. Like if the advice works great, but like you said, not every baby is the same. Montessori moms are also kinda cult like, and they remind me of TikTok beige moms in what they buy/how they teach their young children. The method seems fine in itself, but seems like many moms do not practice what is preached and either use it as an aesthetic (which is why it’s so similar to the TikTok sad beige moms) or use it as an excuse for lazy parenting.

Good video, I will say that buying a tablet for digital notes is really helpful but besides that I don't really recommend it. There are less expensive options better than iPad like the Microsoft Surface Go which has a magnetic stylus that has a 1 year battery life.

Most people buy expensive things that are unnecessary and don't even work due to society pressuring them to feel the need to buy more things and things that are luxerious. That $50 sunscreen works just like a $7 one would. Yes, some things are worth spending more on but not everything you see, you need to buy.

All you need to do now is: - donate them to charity stores, clothes banks or a fabric recycling company when you are done with them or if you don’t use them - do not buy more, get through the ones you have. I know having the options is nice but you don’t need it, so please reconsider what you already own - up cycle or repair so they last longer! You are not a bad person, and if you enjoy it that’s great! Try not to shop there in future if you can help it, though I know it can be cheaper.

I was sleeping in my bouncer thingy while my dad was rocking it with his leg, what happened next is that when he fell asleep - his leg flipped my baby bouncer where I was in 💀

I’ve been watching a lot of videos of overconsumption lately, and I think this is really what I needed to see. Amazon, Tiktok shop, Temu, Aliexpress, Instagram stores, Etsy, etc are all great examples of capitalism and we’re feeding into it horribly. For me, I need to save as much money to get my own apartment and car, possibly. I’m able to save as much money that I’m comfortable with because I live in a housing program (Thank God) so I don’t really have to pay for anything, except my phone bill, groceries, or things I choose to buy for myself. I’ve been buying a lot of stuff from Temu and Tiktok shop, and it’s obsessive. I don’t truly need anything that I’ve bought, because it’s just not sustainable especially since I’m likely to throw out what is worn and torn. But after watching this, I’m going to use everything that I have until I’m literally unable to. I don’t think anybody really needs a lifetime supply of any body care or makeups, etc. It’s also okay to be aesthetic, but I think that it’d be way better to do these things on a budget, so you aren’t scraping the bottom of your wallets to try and replicate the girlies on social media. Edit: Another thing I want to add is that, me personally, being thankful and humble is something that really brings out the best me. It’s OKAY to just stick with things that may not be super expensive or on trend. WHO CARES if you don’t have name brand stuff spend your money on things you might use one or twice?? Let’s all be grateful for what we have and learn to just not be so wasteful because it could be a whole lot worse. These are such first world problems and it’s really sad.
