@Jenny D Battle-axe has a very dark and depressing meaning, in fact, the entire album is almost taboo for them to play as it's a haunting album in its entirety. Read up on some interviews and it'll explain the backstory.

@Jenny D Chino. He was an alcoholic and addict in that time, and he said in some interviews that he was really depressed and anger, couldnt deal with his problems and fight a lot with the other members. Everyone in the band was anger too, but Chino always said that he was the "trouble maker".

i dont want to be ignorant but what makes this more sad than any other dark deftones track? i know chino has said himself this is a very dark and unfun track for him, but i dont really hear it in the lyrics

@@gongiball lyrics aren’t very in your face, but it’s a very negative song. Very minor musically. Pretty dark chord progression too.

I'm sure it's very unlikely but I'm finally after nearly 3 decades of being a Deftones fanatic am finally going to see them with my 17 year old son in May and I'd give nearly anything to hear them play this one live. Battle Axe and the entire ST record in general is my all time Deftones without question.

Honestly, listening to the Deftones live is unlike anything I've experienced....at all. This band strike a chord in me that I can't describe

It is so heavy nostalgic, melancolic, sad, romantic powerfull song, no doubt one of their best. I think that this one would be the first song I'll play when I launch my new drum kit.

Natalie Anderson I ran to the front of the stage from the 44th row there was about a 3 metre space between the stage and the first row it's was a phenomenal experience
