They produce really good, powerful and, catchy riffs. All this along with the drums and Chino's voice makes this band so unique.

The mix sounds better live than on the album. You can actually hear Abe's drumming.

The mix on Gore is pretty disappointing isn't it? Usually Abe is right up front kicking my head in, but I really find that lacking on Gore.

Yeah, it actual bothers me and I hope that they remix it one day. The album itself is good, it just lacks the tooth that Abe's drumming gives them. The production on all of their previous albums is incredible, crisp and clear. On Gore the drums and bass get lost and blurred and it really affects the overall impact of the music.

Nailed it. I really like Gore but if ever an album needed doing over sound-wise and then re-released, it's Gore. The production and the mixing is the only major issue with it. Even just cutting the guitars back in the mix and putting the drums further forward would improve it.

Yea I would really like to see Terry Date or someone remaster Gore at some point. Matt Hyde did a crappy job producing and mixing this album. Hope they use someone else on their next one!

i was thinking that to. The drums are so much lower on the record which is a shame cause abe is great. I was also surprised cause koi no and DE sounded perfect.

O Deftones se tornou uma das melhores bandas do mundo , conseguiu transpor as fronteiras do nu metal e adquiriu uma identidade única , amadurecendo sem apelar pro famoso popzinho que assola muitas bandas com o passar do tempo , !

holy shit are frank's keyboards turned wayyyyyyyyyy down on the album version. makes it a whole new song. and as noted below, you can hear the drums here too. a big part of the sonic problem with gore is stephen switching to orange amps for this album. they sound like plastic walkie talkies. its ok for chino to play them, as he is more effects pedal heavy, but they can't handle a metal setting like stephen with his 8 strings. the only way to get a "decent" distortion from them is to push their volume and gain to a point to where no noise gate can clean up the sound. stephen stopped playing them on ohms, thus fixing their sound.

You’re implying that live songs have to be identical to the album version. They don’t.
