Defibrillation, Synchronized Cardioversion & Transcutaneous Pacing (TCP)

This video provides an overview and demonstration of Defibrillation, Synchronized Cardioversion & Transcutaneous Pacing (TCP) that is available on a defibrillator.
In Cardiac Arrest, if a rhythm is shockable, for every minute you delay defibrillation, chances of success diminish for the patient by 7-10% per minute. So do not delay defibrillation and most importantly, know your equipment!

    I love this overview video looking at the defib. This video is a very useful tool for clinicians that do not use there defib often. Keep up the good work!

    Regular review on how to use your available emergency equipment is very important as not to impact patient outcomes. There is no time to figure out how to do a procedure when the patient is lying in front of you. For every minute we delay defibrillation, a patients chanse of survival deminishes by 7-10% per minute.

    in tcp do we always use the AP Pad placement ? Or depends on the manufacturer?

  • @TheResuscitationCoach

    @TheResuscitationCoach

    7 ай бұрын

    With AP you have better success rates with TCP but you could also use the standard defibrillation pad position as a lot of time the patient might have pads already in place. Always follow recommendations from the manufacturer.
