There is no point. The sparrows and starlings are pretty adaptable creatures so the population isn’t going to decrease anytime soon. As long as humans are around, sparrows and starlings will be in our vicinity.

In the first age, in the first battle, when the shadows first lengthened, one stood. Burned by the embers of Armageddon, his skin blistered by the Summer sun and tainted beyond ascension, he chose the path of perpetual torment. In his ravenous hatred he found no peace; and with boiling blood he scoured the Wisconsin Plains seeking vengeance against the dark birds who had wronged him. He wore the crown of the Tree swallows, and those that tasted the bite of his sword named him... the Sparrow Slayer.

I am so jealous. I don't have the habitat for Tree Swallows. They are gorgeous. I was backpacking once on a levee around Lake Moultrie in South Carolina and came upon a flock of thousands of Tree Swallows in migration. They were taking a rest on the levee. As I walked they would take off just in front of me and swirl around and land behind. Bright green jewels all around. Marvelous.

Ted every year this video pops up and every year I watch it again. I am a Purple Martin landlord and I have 40 houses on my property. As you probably know Purple Martins live in colonies and they are defenseless against starlings and English house sparrows. They are a member of the swallow family and therefore are cavity nesters. I love these little devils and I dispatch a number of invasive species every year. My plan C is not as sophisticated as yours but it’s just as effective. Thank you

Dozens of sparrows visit my feeders and houses that I have for my local doves. For along time they got away with it then a peregrine falcon moved in across the block and takes care of the problem lol. Little guys get all plumped up and then he picks them off. Amazing site hell dive and swoop in faster than you can blink. He has never bothered the doves either , I’m assuming their too large for him.

Ted. Pt 2 Very good, liked pt 1 even better. I have year round swallows nesting in out shooting range building providing some inter species communication. If I arrive out there before sun up, throw on the lights and start using real noise makers they let me know about it. So they trained me to shoot PCP's first. They build their mud nests first, perch on the magnetic door locks for warmth, fly through the triangular door hand gaps which are narrower than their wingspan and are good company. During the day they stay out unless rearing young. It is enjoyable being able to walk within 8 feet of them. Keep up the preservation of the better species.

I got those swallows all over my duck pond and trees. They are like fighter pilots, zooming in and out picking off the flies and bugs. Thanks for the idea on those bird houses. I started off out here with four, and now they've multiplied to a dozen. Every morning and evening killing bugs. If I am watering my trees, sometimes one will hover in the spray to cool off. They are extremely friendly. One sits on the security light under the roof, and I was thinking it would nest. I better build some pole houses this winter.
