National Academy of Defence Production (NADP) Nagpur, a premier training institute of Munitions India Limited and erstwhile Ordnance Factory Board (OFB), under Department of Defence Production, Ministry of Defence will be starting AICTE approved 2-years Post Graduate Diploma in Management (Business Management) programme with focus on defence industries. D.C. Srivastava, Head of the Academy informed that the first session will be starting from October 2022.
NADP is also one of the Central Training Institute (CTI) recognized by Department of Personnel & Training (DOP&T), Govt. of India and has been providing induction and in-service training to the officers of Indian Ordnance Factory Service in the field of defence technology and management for over the past 40 years.
This programme aims to contribute in creating a pool of highly skilled managers to take the Indian defence industry to a new height and assist in making ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’ in defence production. The programme is opened to the students including executives aspiring to make / advance their career in the field of management.
This PGDM (BM) course will be providing both theoretical and practical learning in diverse areas of management. The curriculum of this course is designed to build the capacity of students/executives in all functional areas of management by inculcating / developing their managerial skills. Moreover, a special focus on Defence Management topics has been given in the curriculum to have a better appreciation of specific needs of defence sector.

National Academy of Defence Production is a training and development institute incorporated under Ordnance Factory Board. It imparts training to the Group-A gazetted officers recruited under Indian Ordnance Factories Service. The academy also conducts mid career training program for Group-A officers serving across different ordnance factories.

The institute conducts 64 weeks induction programme to the candidates (i.e. probationary officers) who are later deputed to Ordnance factories. It is quite a holistic training program that imparts basic skills needed among the newly recruited officers to run the various ordnance factories located all over the country. The program starts with introduction module followed by general administration and general management module.

Armed forces attachment

The candidates are selected through Civil Services Examination and the Engineering Services Examination, conducted by Union Public Service Commission.The institute is well equipped with the training facilities. It includes audio-video teaching aids, fully computerized library and subscription to various periodicals relevant to the training programme. There is 35 node LAN network inside campus for internet access. The exhibition center has a number of ammunition devices and defense technologies on display for the probationary officers. There is yoga center and courts for various sports such as billiards, badminton, tennis, volley ball and table tennis.
