Showing the Defcon Hydra TD006 Knife. The Defcon Hydra series of knives was designed by Michael Ruth, who is a knifemaker (ruthless_custom_knives on Instagram) and Law Enforcement Officer. Enjoy :D

Nice. I just acquired the Ruike F815 - B fixed blade and the tops Buck CSAR - T. They are both awesome knives I got em for my new EDC until I find something else that I like lol

I see they also have some nice looking folders as well. They all look like good solid built knives, but yeah, I would go for the fine edge..serrations are good for self defense and for cutting fibrous stuff like rope or seat belt type straps, and plastic. If you are going to use it in the woods,I would agree with you, go with a full fine edge. A D2 blade with a kydex sheath and tec lock type attachment, for that price is a good deal.

D2 steel, a Kydex sheath, and G10 for $50 bucks seems like pretty good bang for buck. Good review and advice, as always.

Fully agree with your thoughts on finger grooves. Seems like even 3 can be done right, but 4 is always trouble. Think Folts Minimalist. That thing fits pretty much hands. It can be a good thing, but neutral grips are a much safer bet.

It is a nice knife, may wanna try out some Kubey blades, too. They’re also made from D2, with G10 grips.

I m LOVING that knife so far but true, plain edge only. I love over built type camp knives as I like the defensive aspect that can also do the camp chores. Everything I have I strive for multi purpose functionality. I would much prefer this blade over a Mora. Jmo. Thanks for this review.

Great all-around video....the burning Stump of Truth making a cameo and I understand it's too hot for the Adidas track jacket which is of course a must for wrecking face. In self defense of course. Well done WAJK

I agree regarding serrations, they are not needed (or wanted by me). I personally prefer a knife with some weight/heft. I would rather have the Hydra than a Mora. I don't particularly like the Teclok/kydex sheath, but it does work, although it rides too high. Thanks for showing this knife. It's worth $50.

If they did what you say to this blade it's a sold blade I like it. Get rid of those finger grooves and serrated edge and it's beast time and pull out the money's lol. Great review brother as usual best on the tube as far as I'm concerned. 👊🤘🤘👍👍🇺🇸

In my martial arts style which is the Bukan Krav Maga we use edge in techniques so the finger grooves are not good for me. I also would advise them to make a thinner stock if they are more concern with self defense than with survival. I understand they made a very thick stock because they are trying to make a survival/self defense knife but such a thick stock makes the knife horrible for cutting stuff. Honestly I would much rather buy one of those Sanrenmu fixed blades that you can buy at GearBest if I would go fixed blade because they are great slicers.

It’s not bad. I prefer a flat grind over this hollow. The finger grooves are good for weapon use, but less than ideal for true bushcraft use. So to me, this is more of a weapon than a functional woodsmans tool. The price is kind of high, but D2 is good steel and the materials and the sheath are helping to justify it in my opinion.

I own several d2 steel blades, very nice, I have 2 knives from CFK KNIVES one is a 13 inch machete, and 2 GCS KNIVES, and 2 tracker blades from different companys, 2 pocket knives from kubey. And so far Im not disappointed with any of them, all have exceeded my expectations, but as far as machetes go 5160 steel is better, my d2 machete hasn't broken by any means it's just I get a feeling it might if Im too rough with it. If possible could you do a video reviewing the ONTARIO KUKIRI, I own one but I want to know your point of view on it, a word of warning, it tends to want to roll while chopping so be carefull, I've chopped a 2×4 and bamboo with it, not bad. Don't forget use safety gear.

Awesome, I rarely meet anyone who is familiar with CFK, GCS, and Kubey. I own several solid blades from all three of those companies, they are very popular on Amazon, not as popular with snobby ass KZread LOL. Haven't tried the OKC Kukri yet, but maybe in the future!
