Read Me - Recorded on September 8th, 1987 @ the Hammersmith Odeon in London, England.
Great sounding show from the first UK leg of the Hysteria Tour. These shows were quite different compared to what the shows would become by the end of the tour in my opinion. This was the 2nd of three consecutive nights at Hammersmith. Big thanks to maffin for the transfer, and tonsofsobs for the tracking and editing.
The band sound pretty good, but a little tight, or stiff as well. For sure still working in the new material while on their home turf, but also bringing out some welcome surprises. Standout tracks of the lot would be Billy's Got a Gun, Armageddon It, Don't Shoot Shotgun, and Wasted. Hysteria and Armageddon It would swap every show for this leg.

They still sound reasonably metallic at that stage of their careers. Loud and rockin'. Brings back awesome memories as a teenager.
I can't quite explain it, but there's just something so odly satisfying about how rick plays wasted here.

Steve and Phil’s solos sound great and it’s interesting to hear how different Phil’s solo is compared to later in the tour Steve’s solo sounds like it does on the dvd release and it’s amazing

It's a really interesting set list. Almost the entire pyromania album. Something like seven of the first eight songs are from pyromania. I imagine this is before most of the singles had been released with hysteria.

Who knows. The pyromania tour barely has any footage either.
Too late for love sounds nasty wicked. Fuckin' bad ass. You can definitely see where Metallica was influenced by them and not just the first album.
