DEF FLUID GAUGE READING STUCK

DEF Level Sensor issue are a common problem here’s a way to diagnose and maybe solve some issues before spending on parts and labor. Truck is a 2022 Frieghtliner Cascadia.
Tools needed:
Ratchet 3/8
• Needle Nose
• Flat Head
• Pick
• Hammer
• Pry Bar
• Zip tie Cutters

    my def level sensor on volvo stuck on empty no codes no derate can it run or i would have derate st some time?

    Mines froze it was -20 in Chicago and I have not been able to get it back to normal the engine is in full derate I’ve tried everything except this so far

    You should definitely try it, especially if it is easy to access, if it is not still worth a shot to call a mechanic out to do that.

    I am located in Florida and I do up north no further than ATL and Savannah GA area.

    @UHaulShorts My gauge is stuck on full on a 2024 Cascadia, and I have an appointment at the shop this week to have the DEF header replaced. The maintenance supervisor told me when he ordered the part that the book says 3.5 hours of labor, but he said depending on who does it and how full the tank is it might only take 2-2.5 hours. I have a sleeper so they’re going to have to remove the side fairings to access the DEF tank, which means the repair may take closer to what the book says. I don’t want to waste anymore time waiting than necessary, but I’d rather wait a little longer and the job be done correctly. I’m more worried about them removing the side fairings and damaging them if they just throw them on the ground instead of carefully sitting them flat on top of the tires or flat on a work bench.
