The days when SRK was still... that talented boy from delhi, with whom entire nation connected. We saw him on doordarshan and knew him as a commener who was making it big on his merit. Even the roles he portrayed were of a commen man. People saw their success in his success, he made us all dared to dream, everybody cheered for him, wanted him to do really well as if he is one of our own...but then came DDLJ. Ofcourse, He became a deserving superstar but SRK since then has not been the same. His roles and persona have become much larger than life now. New generation has only seen him as SRK the superstar. They cant relate to him as a commener now, like we kids of 90s did. For them he was always the king khan..the connect that he had with his audience has been lost forever. And it all started with that one movie, DDLJ.

You said it, bro. 1995 was the year of DDLJ & Rangeela... Aamir turned away from romance & Shahrukh towards it... With 2020 hindsight (2021 actually), that's what made all the difference.

This is Shah Rukh Khan's most underrated movie. His acting in this film was as usual par excellence. We shall keep you loving madly, SRK 💐

I don't think it's underated.....it is a cult classic movie

It's amazing how Jatin & Lalit chose the voices for the characters. Udit Narayan sings for Chris; bold, flamboyant and confident. Amit Kumar sings for Sunil; soft, innocent and dreamy. Even, the song ends with the antara "Jo toot jaaye, taare tamaam, mangoon bas yeh hi duwa", picturised on Sunil. The line foreshadows his impossible dream, and his inevitable heartbreak.

Shahrukh played the role of a loser in this movie. A loser who is neither the brightest student, nor a handsome hunk, nor a success in any other field. He resorts to lying to get the girl he wants, and yet fails. He fools his parents by forging a fake marksheet. He is full of flaws. Despite all his flaws, his character had a heart of gold. Even after successfully forging a marksheet, he feels guilty of fooling his loved ones, and comes clean, in front of the entire party. One of the most emotional songs : Woh to hai albela. Despite the girl agreeing to marry him, he sacrifices his love because he knows he is only a friend, and her true love is someone else. And despite looking completely worthless, he has one talent - his music. When he plays his music, he pours his heart out. Shahrukh played the role of this vulnerable, flawed loser with such charm, that everyone rooted for him. We all could relate to his character Sunil, and that is why we all smiled whenever he succeeded in his shenanigans, and cried with him whenever he had a heartbreak. We all forgot it is Shahrukh. We all identified with the character Sunil, because we felt it was us. His character gave us hope you could be written down by the world, but still you could live the life and embrace all its joys and heartbreaks. We all were Sunils

Shah rukh Khan is destiny child. I remember going to theatre with my mother for this movie. My mother was telling as the hero was unknown how the movie would be or it would be a waste of money. Once we came out of the theatre my mother views about the movie was changed she told that this actor Shah rukh Khan is going to go places. Kundan Shah gifted us a hero with all flaws and the story was superb. RIP Kundan Shah.

Actually late Mr. Kundan Shah is real HERO of this masterclass film.... What a director he is... and vintage SRK performance is cherry on cake (Sunil is One of best character i ever seen in hindi film)

Kabhi Haan Kabhi Naa and Swades will remain my all time favourites. Both had the best performance by Sharukh khan and both had great music. I was 14 when this movie was released I'm 42 now but this movie and its songs are still fresh in 2021👍.

I was in my teen when I saw this movie. Earlier wacthed SRK in Fauji and Circus serials. I could watch him in Raju ban gaya gentleman when I was studying engineering. Our generation could relate to his movies. Now-a-days such youthful movies are not produced or may be we have lost interest.

Shahrukhs name at 02.46 is my fav moment from this song. Who knew this man would rule the industry for years.

I would say innocence and charm personified in the way Shahrukh played Sunil. Everyone fell in love with him despite Sunil being a loser so as to say. This is once in a lifetime performance and the movie is so fresh till date. Sunil and this movie are a keeper for life. 😍

Missing those days. I was born in 1986 in a very small city where we didn't have theater. But mu childhood has memories of those music cassette tape where I used to hear these songs. What an era that was.... I wish to see or hear or read SRK biography someday...

Simplicity and being yourself is the BIGGEST WEALTH IN LIFE. And question for money and popularity BURNS THE INNOCENCE & SIMPLICITY. This dirty world will NEVER EVER let you be YOURSELF. Money needs and society will ALWAYS restrict everyone from cherishing their OWN CHOICES. Never ever do this. We have ONLY ONE LIFE, NEVER compromise your happiness for ANYTHING, I repeat ANYTHING. You definitely have this basic right in every life, so LIVE TO THE FULLEST ATLEAST BEFORE YOU DIE. ✌️👍☺️

Still can't believe that the drummer is played by Ashutosh Gowarikar who later directed Lagaan and Swades, two of the best Bollywood films to date

I haven’t seen KHKN on the big screen. But have seen all the movies from Dil Se to date ( and many more in-between movies like Bazigaar, Daar etc on their re-run). And everytime SRK's name flashes on the title credit, the hall erupts with joy. Really, SRK is the last superstar.

In 94-95 , I used to listen this song again and again in cassettes, I don't know why, I was just 5 years old then, but I feel some connection with it.

A great gem of a movie ahead of its time... SRK was a master in playing first anti-hero and then this kijd of layered and flawed characters... I really wish he did more things like this...and as always the best dressed, witty and charming guy of Bollywood❤❤❤
