Deer stalking in Western Australia, Bow Hunting

Спорт

I was fortunate to have a short wee stay overnight at a rural property in Western Australia and take the bow and camera out for a sneak around.

Great to see some deer hunting content in wa, I'm seeing the numbers increasing every year, hopefully we can get some common sense over here one day and be able to hunt in the national parks, keep up the great work mate

Nice to see you have a few deer over there Jamie, yeah those white ants seem to swarm when there is the treat of a thunder storm over this side of the country not sure if that's the case where you are, annoying little mongrels, thanks for sharing enjoyed this one.

Thanks again Hank, she's certainly no Victoria but anytime in the outdoors is time well spent I reckon. I've taken the kids camping a few times on this property and seen the odd deer, including a good stag. Neat spot, very grateful to have access 👍

Thanks for the video, nice to see WA looking so plush. I am currently in the Soviet State of Victoria so need to move back to Australia. WA and QLD were on the list. How do you find the hunting there? I guess I have been a little spoilt over the last few years in NSW and Vic, however circumstances now dictate a move, so trying to evaluate a new stomping ground. I don't want the exact location, but do you mind telling me where in WA you were. One of the things I will miss form here is the absolute beauty and the lush green, I will miss that but where you were was pretty special. Chees in advance, Greg.

Awesome to see some WA hunting content bud, I’ve always wondered on hunting species over there. Stay away from those wriggly sticks mate they are no good, it’s been warm the last few days here in east vic they will be getting mobile in the scrub here too nearly time to sign off the sambar till next year, see how I go👍

You'd probably be surprised to know that some parts of southern WA gets over 1metre of rain in a year. But she certainly dries up in summer 😳

Nah - the mud on the trees you mean? Nah certainly not that morning; it was all dried with no discolouration and the wallow was starting to dry up too. There were fresher prints around the actual dam though. I'd like to sit off that spot just after some rain has come through though ...

Yes to both; although i believe it is the most regulated state in Australia and public land is locked up unless you're a member of ADA or SSAA or other affiliated associations with public liabllility insurance that have an MOU with the Department of Parks and Wildlife (or whatever they're called now) to hunt feral game on conservation land. My understanding is the association lodges a hunt plan to the local authorities and members have to pass a safe hunt training or induction course to be able to participate In the club hunt but it's only for a select parcel of land over a select period of time I think. I've not been on one, but I should get off my bum and do it! If anyone reading this comment knows more I encourage you to share away 👍

@@MountainMan_NZ all those laws and 'private access' would put me off hunting all together, may as well go for a fish . I think the best thing about hunting is just getting into your car and heading into the hills. Glad I live in Victoria!!

Bloody termites and ants they can be a pest when you are out and about but that area you are in looks good mate better than trudging around the bush in parts of the Vic Alps

Cheers rod, I was back there over the weekend and missed a pig at 45m on a reasonably steep down hill shot. Shot for 40m pin but should have shot for 35m or 30m pin. Arrow zipped right over him!

Great video Jamie, good to see you share some WA hunting content. It has always interested me since visiting friends over there and coming across some deer sign while at a local waterfall just outside of Perth. Were they Red, Rusa or both you were chasing? Cheers.

More beautiful country. After watching literally hundreds of videos about Australian hunting and the laws it seems there are so many people that make the laws/ hunting rules etc. that are apparently ignorant of wildlife facts and / or still locked up in the old concept that they must control the masses with their British type total authority mentality. Here the people can and have quickly gotten laws created or changed to what the people want ( with science included) . Mostly, with enough pressure the lawmakers do change things. I just don't understand why the various lawmakers there seem to be hardline on the hunting laws as I see it from watching Australian hunt videos. 👍👍🏹🏹🦌🐐🐗

At 7.50 the footage of the deer is not related in any way the sun is over head and your hunting as the sun is rising , and not a green blade of grass .Bad form .
