Note to others: So long as you spend it properly, you never have to do layer 2, simply be at power 18 (ish) when obtaining the oath. Killing duke grants you two knowledge, which allows you to do this.

btw ganymedes passive helps with this, reducing knowledge costs from 5-4 when spending knowledge at shrines.

I’m that blindseer guy, got wiped already. Pro tip, if you see more than 1 person in the same guild, leave. Also, never be afk, never let your guard down, never get caught lacking, the list goes on.

this is not at all worth it for how hard it is to get. getting neutral ministry rep takes about an hour or two, then you gotta get 4 shrines which will take around an hour to travel around the map, then getting 10 grips in the depths is not easy. it also makes you feel horrible with super high risk.

All for what? What the fuck kind of lore explanation do the oath grips have? Besides, getting ministry rep is so insanely dumb, the only event you can even gain it is the one on summer isle or that bounty garbage. I thought linkstrider was dumb to get but this takes the cake, they're turning oaths into rogue lineage classes. We really didn't need more incentives to kill other players, especially take their entire progress away.

I mean , they killed the layer 1 depths with layer 2 , so maybe it was their way to revive the layer 1 depths ig . If the reason they did that is the reason I said ... they need to rethink of another way.

@@viperthekid4786 yea im okay with doing pvp but im not ok with getting ganked every single time i enter the depths im fully ok with losing my characters unless its because of me getting ganked or dying to lag but thanks to this oath its gonna be impossible to be on the depths without getting ganked

PvP does not require a specific reason, as the fight itself can be rewarding. Providing incentives for players to wipe hours of progress or grind mindlessly will ultimately harm the game. Forcing others to destroy the progress of 3 individuals for the benefit of one person is not enjoyable for all players, except for the person receiving the Oath.

The steps for contractor combined with valekis's new video will make minityrsa and the depths unplayable lol

He doesn't encourage depths ganking, he's just reviewing it. Depths ganking is part of oath progression, if anything, your respect for the dev team should be reduced to atoms.

@@monkey3101 you are either someone who has never actually had a progressed character, or someone who never goes outaide and can sped 16 hours a day making three level 20 characters and wiping all of them like an idiot. Some of us need to go outside sometimes, you know? Can't be spending that much time only for our characters to be wiped by some band of 5 monkeys in the depths "progressing".

As good as the Layer 2 update is, I feel like it's caused a lot of power creep on the older stuff, and if this continues to be a trend with new content, it'll be a big problem. I can just pray that they go back and buff/rework the older oaths. More alloyable weapons and new criticals for weapons that don't have unique ones would also be nice.

ACTUAL method cuz a bit of that is unneeded 1. Have Neutral (or better) Reputation with the Ministry. 2. Have 15 intelligence (lowest known obtainment has been 15). 3. Start the Duke Erisia questline. 4. Talk to every shrine (all known obtainments HAVE done deals with all shrines except the shrine of order). 5. Go to depths and talk to Yunshul and do the dialogue prompt about what happened. 6. Go up and talk to Lord Regent to finish the Duke Erisia questline. 7. Get oath by saying you know what he intends and you wish to join him.

NO WAY PUNCHEE POSTED CONTRACTOR OATH

This oath basically requires you to freshie grip and wipe slots that people have worked hard on to progress it. You can gain ministry rep by doing a quest to grip people on erisia, you know, the starter island. Just imagine, someone fully decked out with enchants and a bell trying to get this oath. Fuck those new players am I right? Time to bring my crypt blade to kill some level 1s.

The ones who gatekept it were doing us a favor, think about how awful the Depths will be now that you have to grip people to progress contractor. Good luck getting to Layer 2 through Castle Light if you're going to be gripped before you even make it there

@@_stealth_313 bro 20 int is a lot of people's go-to stat invest for talents and ether and it's lower than that? That's like making jetstriker take 10 agility, but you have to climb to the celestial island and defeat the dry god and come back to get your oath only to find out that you need to defeat the ender dragon and then beat on your mother because you have no father figure. Then you find out irl lore that your mother was actually a world champion javelin thrower back in 852 and throws a slipper at your ass from the nearest Kohl's into your room back at home, located in the basement. After somehow defeating your mother, talk to the npc located above the map in the depths. That npc will finally give you the 1st talent of jetstriker, out of 6. Enjoy!
