I've found that my trolling motor is either pushing my boat too fast for the deeper arm to handle, or the arm just isn't working as well as it should. While travelling at the lowest setting on my trolling motor water kept coming up over the deeper fish finder and I'd lose signal. Maybe putting it at the back of the boat rather than the side would help.

I wonder if taping a little piece of floatation material near the end of the arm would help out for faster speeds 🤔

It depends on the bait boat and what mount it has. And you can use it on anything you want as long as you have a 1/4 20 female screw head to screw the arm into.

But you didn’t explain how it attaches to a kayak

It has a clamp? The same one that I showed on a few shots and explained it's clamping dimensions. I also don't have a kayak to demonstrate the arm mount being mounted on it. But I must admit that I forgot to add that the arm mount comes with a rail mount for kayaks that I didn't explain. Sorry about that.

I cast mine fine? Up to 100m (with a thick leader ofcourse)
