I just went through my first session of deep rock galactic. The game is a blast, I love the "extration in a deadly zone" enviroment, the mining feels rewarding (especially when you are greedy) and the fps mechanics are amazing. But the most important is that you just NAILED the dwarf humor, they are kind of like hilarious little reignharts, laughable, tough, and probably too proud for their own security

There is a scientific law about Dane: the more Dwarves or Dwarf like characters their are in a First Person shooter game the more likely Dane is to play and enjoy the game. Basically Dane is into short bearded men

The odds of anyone reading this is practically zero, but this video has been stuck in my head for YEARS now DRG fascinated me, I watched every trailer on Steam so many times, it just looked so cool Bought the game, played 150 hours in 2 months, in lobbies with random players 95% of the time. The main reason I never played it was because I had no friends, and I wasn't expecting the game to improve, but I was so wrong. DRG keeps getting better, it's a blast to play, even on your own

My god this game is amazing. It feels so much like how TF2 was in it's infancy; Insanely charming, amazing gameplay loop, and the look of the game is just... right to me. Really excited to see where this goes in the future.

I just started playing DRG this year, and this video has been a fascinating time capsule on how the game used to look UI-wise.

“A finished game, almost” we’ll look where we are now. The game is so much better because the devs have put so much effort into it.

@@Sir_Bucket Oh absolutely! I mostly play with randoms and while of course every game is more fun with friends, over 90% of the people I played with were nice and cooperative. I met only one real dickhead in 80 hours and as I said, it's just a fun game to calm down and mine in. Or crank it up to Hazard 4 or 5 (highest difficulties) and get some real action going!

game still progresses to this day, the devs succeed at sticking to their roadmap, and do even MORE than what is written on it at times (like reskining older weapon models) Definitely can be even more recommended nowadays than it was at the time of this video

PLEASE EVERYONE BUY THIS GAME, It's seriously one of the most impressive titles I have ever seen, let alone one in early access. This game has had so many giant updates since this video and it's genuinely phenomenal. On top of that the devs seem like a good bunch of people.

This video aged well :). DRG is a great game

there is this weird almost parent like feeling I feel towards DRG. Watching this indie game just blow up and become as amazing as it has, it really warms my heart and I'm not sure I'll ever stop playing this game in the far future. Still playing LFD2, still would throw down in halo after almost two decades, and not a week goes by that I don't play DRG, even with nearly every cosmetic unlocked.

Dark synthwave I'm sold, that's all I needed

The bugs remind me of a hybrid between Half-Life and Starcraft, not to mention that the ceiling one is literally a barnacle.

5 years later, this game has only gotten better, and we now have 2 upcoming drg spinoff games

Looking back on this video it's kinda shocking how bare-bones some of the aesthetic parts of the game were. The Space Rig and weapons are all much more detailed and complete now.

Biggest complaint lack of upgrade speciality Overclocks allow us to introduce ourselves

Since this video, DRG has had like 40+major updates Tf2 has had none

It's 2022 and this game became the shining example of incredible development, successful early access, honest and open no-p2w monetization and live-service done right. DRG is one of the BEST games out there. Rock and Stone!

This game has thankfully only continued to get better. I love it

This game really makes you feel like Torbjorn from Elder Scrolls V: Return of The King

When you have a good game, and you want it to be great. Dwarves! Dwarves are without doubt the most lovable in any universe. Just add Dwarves, now.

For those wondering, the game is still updated like clockwork, since this review its gotten new weapons, new enemies and new mechanics. If you and your friends like 4 coop games. This is a really must not miss.

This needs to be updated. Game is SO much better now! Season one is over and season 2 is starting very soon!

I may have not bought this game until 2019, but it's my 2018 GOTY. They could stop updating it right now, and I'd be happy.

Three years and twelve new weapons later, it feels good to watch this and see how far the game has come. I look forward to the future of this mastapiece

season 4 is starting june 15 and i'm so hyped. been playing over 350 hours and still loving it. rock and stone to the bone

Watching drunk scout struggling to stay on engineers platform and mine ore he can barely see at the same time is worth buying the game on its own.

As a new DRG player as of last week, I'm glad to finally be experiencing this game. Especially after its recent 1.0 release a few weeks back

It’s in early access

Its funny seeing how far DRG has come over the couple years I've had it. The hub didn't look quite as bland as it was in this video but still empty, seeing the terminals moved around constantly, the visuals being overhauled, new content and so on. Not to mention with things like the halloween event and all the decorations are up, I can slap the ghosts around and my dwarf will say a funny joke or quip. The beer drinking, the jukebox, petting Steeve, petting Doretta, just these nice little things that just bring more life to the gameplay I think.

Whoa imagine how crazy this game would be with a pvp mode. 2 Teams competing to find some rare mineral while the bugs remain as an omnipresent threat to everyone.

But,if we do it like in L4D it is actually could work (but im not saying that we need only one versus mode,so one versus is Players vs Bugs,and the other is Team vs Team),so the normal and small bugs are just there(not-controllable),but the B I G B O I S are controlled by the players on the bugs team.

No, just no. PVE and PVP are separate gamemodes for a reason. Just look at Merasmus, Headless Horsemen, or Monoculus Rift fights in TF2.

Been playing since it was first released, I still play it even now. Highly recommend

its great coming back and seeing the sheer improvement until late 2022 and- *OH GOD GIGANTIC WHY* (SOBBING)

So this video is 5y old now. I just got into DRG, have loved TF2 basically since launch and Uncle Dane for nearly a decade. Hearing that joke about TF2 devs not caring at about 7:10, FIVE YEARS LATER after #SaveTF2 is over 2 years old and still no word from Valve, is so depressing. Bring back my beloved TF2. 6-10-24. Peace.

Crazy to think how much more content has been added to this game in just about a year or twos worth of time, Rock and Stone!

I remember seeing this when it was first out and thought "Man, maybe I should get this... but none of my friends have it." Well, just got into it last week on Christmas Sale since I now have friends that play it, and I have gone DEEP (Rock Galactic) on this. This video, way back when, also actually got me interested in Darksynth / Darksynthwave. And the song that was displayed has become my favorite (or at least among one of my top 5). Rock and Stone!

Coming back to this video after recently purchasing it a few months ago, I'm glad you exposed me to it 2 years ago. It's also nice seeing old footage of the game. I think a point that isn't mentioned is how well-optimized the game is, it runs on a toaster very well.

It's not been out of early access since May, and this video has given me hope for purchasing it more than any of the ads could, and even with just he ads I was really interested

Dane SO needs to make another video on Deep Rock Galactic. There’s been so much new material added since then and I think He’d be an awesome person to talk about it and give it that bit more publicity.
