Unironically though, I think the addition of Big Man as a vocalist was a good idea. I’m a big fan of the lower voice to offset Frye and Shiver’s comparatively higher ones. It makes the song feel more… well-rounded tonally, if that makes sense.

I've been entranced with listening to this song over and over and I'm not sure if it's a full back up vocal or not, but it almost sounds like Big Man provides back up vocals at the beginning with Shiver? In German, they are called Surimi Syndicate... and their names are Muri (Frye), Mako (Shiver) and Mantaro (Big Man). Somehow I always like the german names better... it was the same with Callie and Marie (Squid Sisters) who were called Aioli and Limone instead and the group was called Sea Sirens. Off The Hook was called TentaCool and Pearl named Perla.

Actually, Marina's full name appears in the octo expansion in english! Its in one of the chatlogs you get for completing stages n whatnot. Really interesting to know their different names ^^

You know, in spanish Pearl and marina share names with german, while callie and marie dont, i dont remember the name of the 3 new ones but i do remember that they are also called surimi syndicate here, is weird how this franchise names varies so much between languages, It makes It very confusing

I love how much the song title fits not because it’s mixing the 3 different idol’s themes together but because it’s literally mixing 3 entirely different cultures

you just made me realize that Big Man actually sings with Shiver and Frye in the chorus, how? That's cool tho

I really appreciate the more even mixing of vocals for them, since something about Off The Hook i didn't like was that Pearl just seemed like she forced her way into songs, since Marina is usually a main singer and composer, while Pearl has lines here and there. Octo Expansion had songs with a better Pearl to Marina ratio, but it was still more Marina than Pearl.

Even though I still love City of Color more, I feel like this theme is the overall best one for splatfests so far. It really gives it the feeling of the event being a big celebration, something the splatfests def. need as there’s only 24 of them (which may seem like a lot now, but damn do they go by fast).
