This, along with many other reasons, is why I never let my family members borrow my gaming consoles. Maybe I'll let them borrow a physical copy of a game I own but never a full console. There's no telling how the console will look when it is returned to me.

I was at a local repair shop just recently and the girl at the front counter was taking apart a PS3 to change out some of the ports in the back and to fix an issue with the fan. She screamed and was disgusted because the thing was full of bedbugs. The owner also said it hadn't been dusted or cleaned since he bought it back when it first came out

Tissue is not the right way of cleaning.. You should use microfiber cloth and alcohol for cleaning..

I cleaned a PS4 Slim in similar condition once. No bugs but full of tar and smoke contaminated dust. Never again lol. Although TBH I’d rather deal with a smoky device than a roach motel.

I think it depends on which iPhone/Android versions are the toughest Such as iPhone 5/6 Samsung Galaxy S4 Motorola Moto One of them might be the easiest

Its just a smokers console. Iv seen worse. Ipa and a soft detail brush. Its nothing.

I will fix one iPhone for every like this comment gets

Few things: 1. You should be using a microscope to do port replacements. 2. You should be heating the board from underneath and moving the hot air in a circular motion when replacing ports. 3. You didn’t even bother to clean inside the disc drive. It’s filthy. 4. You should’ve removed the fan and cleaned underneath it as well as inside the blades from both sides. 5. You could’ve cleaned the plastic and metal on the top cover with soap and warm water. It would’ve been a lot easier and wouldn’t have caused rust if you’d dried it thoroughly. Using tissue and anti-bacterial is just making it harder for yourself. Congrats on doing half a job lol.

He just wanted the hdmi fixed, not a complete refurbishment. The cleaning he did was a courtesy. Given that he has sticky fingered kids, he probably didn't want to pay anymore than he had to.
