This is really interesting. I'm considering going for treatment for deep bite but often wonder if it offers any improvement on how the side profile looks. Mine is particularly bad. In fact I feel that my top teeth prevent my lower jaw from coming forward into a position where it feels more comfortable. It's as if they are literally pushing my lower jaw back. I'm worried it's so bad they'd need to do surgery. It's actually my lower teeth that seem to be reaching up too far but I can see that treatment would work in the same way in this video with the bump pads. Thank you for such an informative video.

Hi doc, I have deep bite. 1. I had milk teeth 6 of them below which in the gums permanent teeth. 2. Two of my lower teeths was breaking bit by bit because of deep bite. 3. Because of which 6 milk tooth were extracted 4.i got the braces but was scared of surgery. 5. So stopped the treatment, now again the 2 lower teeth is breaking. 6. I just want those two teeth not to break can I get a retainer or anything that will help me protecting my lower teeths.

Hi doc would you like to enlighten me when should we use bite pads? I have “severe” overjet and i have my self-ligating braces on for about two months now, that’s only it. I don’t have anything except my braces.. is that okay or should I ask for the bite pads to the orthodontist?

I have bite turbos on my Invisalign but my orthodontist calls them bite ramps. I am glad I have Invisalign rather than braces so I can eat normally.

What about fixing a deep bite with crooked bottom teeth? I don’t want to get extractions but an orthodontist recommended it. I have a short face and small chin probably due to my deep bite and my goal is to make a it a bit longer to fix my face length but without making it flat. What should I have my orthodontist do?

So you keep the front teeth spaced out and bring the molars together and make them touch? How does this affect the occlusal plane?? In a good or bad way?

That's very interesting as I have a deep bite, too. I always thought you have to have a jaw surgery to correct this as an adult. Maybe that's my hint to look for an orthodontist.

Is the teeth plate necessary to fix the deep bite for adults before braces or only braces are enough to fix the bite?

Hello, I’ve had deep bite and now with just braces they’re corrected, however my dentist said that the upper teeth would sit anywhere between 2mm to 4mm… Although the lower teeth is seen a bit I still feel a lot if mm of the teeth us still hidden… can you advise please, no forsus or turbos were used.

How did you broaden the top and bottom arches?

Not sure if you're gonna see this but if you do then please make a video about it like options available, I have my permanent teeth beneath my milk teeth. Both teeth are moving but doesn't fall and my permanent is under my milk teeth and not behind. My dentist says if there's no pain then there's no problem but I'm concerned. Thanks

How come bite turbos that are merely stuck onto the back of the front teeth aren't broken off witht he lower teeth in the same way that you say lower brackets would be broken off by the upper front teeth??

ITs difficult to say without evaluating your teeth. We would recommend getting a consultation with an orthodontist to learn what treatment options you may have.

Question. I've currently had braces for about 3 years however it was only done on the top. I have a mild deep bite and I did have that blue cement stuff (can't remember the name) put on a molar on either side of my mouth at the top. Will my deep bite ever go away or what? I've been asked by my dentist about a few months ago when I will get them off as it doesn't seem like much longer and all I ever seem to be aware of is that there's not to be much longer but I haven't been given a date. I do have an appointment tomorrow and maybe I'll get told something tomorrow however I'm not sure... Something else to mention, one of my incisors are pretty big and it nearly looks like 2 small teeth merged into one, and if I recall correctly, I do remember being told about getting it made smaller however I'm not really sure and I'm wondering why it wasn't made smaller before getting my braces because if they got removed, and then the tooth is made smaller, surely thered be some gaps? If you read this, thanks, I get its pretty long and sorry lol. Hope I get some clarity. If need be, I can send a photo if there is somewhere I can.

@user99 Thanks for your advice. But unfortunately, I don't think that I would be getting braces or retainers in the near future. And atleast not for next 2-3 years. Since my mother can't see any problem with my face and she thinks that braces will make my teeth roots weak and they would fall out easily when I'll become old. And she just don't want to understand that how much my deep bite cause me low self-esteem problem and I get bullied because of them frequently. But still I'll continue mewing to make my facial structure better.

How many cost in this treatment.

hi, I have a deep bite of 19mm, only about 3/4mm of my gums show at the bottom when I pull my lip down. My parents aren't willing to pay for braces and I wanted to know if I wait till adulthood if this will have any long-term affects

I’m so sorry Maria. My parents also couldn’t afford to pay for my dental issues. I’m now 27/28 and I’ve decided to go ahead with the braces. I have maybe 5mm deep bite and yes, your back is affected, your posture and the way we talk, not to mention the less confidence and problems in biting normally. I never smile, that’s the biggest reason of taking this decision but I guess getting braces will improve the posture and will be easier to eat/talk and wash our teeth

Thanks for the video. In one of her "after" picture, I see that her top and lower molars are not touching completely, there's a small gap between them, doesn't that affect her chewing? Is that bad or is it normal to have a gap? To me that seems wrong because I would expect my molars to be touching completely just like they were touching before treatment. Will that gap go away on its own a while after the treatment?

I started a treatment and they put bite turbos behind the 4 upper front teeth, but they are so long they hit the back of my lower front teeth and they put holes into my tongue. Not to mention I can't talk like a normal person, especially words with s, 't, sh, ts etc. Is that normal? I think they should be way shorter (as shown on your video). Mine are even showing from behind my teeth and when I tilt my head you can see them completely. They are not metal, so they look quite creepy. I tired to get used to them, but it's been 2 week and my tongue and lower teeth are in pain.

I'm sorry to hear you aren't having the greatest experience with your bite turbos! Its hard to give you an answer due to every case being different. If you are in a lot of discomfort to possibly schedule an appointment with your orthodontist to make them a little more comfortable to live with. Hope this helps!

I have a bad deep bite bottom teeth go way over my top teeth then missing a tooth at the bottom over the years they gap,my aunt was mean to me as a kid and pulled my teeth and pulled them outward now for years I lived with this ugly smile my top teeth are perfect so I try not too smile,I don’t have money to fix my teeth,I’ve been to dentist in the past no help,u remember as a teen when I was in foster care for being child abused by my parents,my state where I live had custody over me,anyways where I was living they took me too the dentist he said it was nothing he could do,he said I had strong teeth,but couldn’t help me,we never went to another dentist,all I wish I could have a beautiful smile,I try so hard not smile,I had some life experiences where people talked about me,i love me and I brush my teeth maybe one day God willing I hope to get money to get my teeth fixed can you give me some advice on how I can get some help getting my teeth fix,thanks for your presentation,great job on fixing her teeth really looks good.

Her face looks to be the same length. She probably just lost weight while she had braces. You'd be surprised by how much your face can change if you lose a lot of weight.
