Been on you since Pariah. Never not supporting you, Dee. Love you!! And thank god for visibility and representation
The movie had a lot of good aspects. Acting, directing, camera work, locations, scenario, audio, cuts, all solid. But it really dropped the ball with the incoherent story telling. It felt like there were several crucial scenes missing, and quite a few plot holes on top of that. The whole arch how a journalist who devoted her life to justice and telling the truth turned into an arms and drug trafficker, just because her demented dad had some obligations due to some dubious deals he made felt very far fetched. And then there was a whole bunch of characters that seemed to play a crucial role, yet their motivations and relevance for the plot remained unclear.

Manuel I completely agree. I just finished watching it and it seemed like I was just waiting for everything to explained better... It wasn’t until the last 30-40 minutes that I felt things were being explained, but it still seemed like A LOT of the story was missing. They don’t go into detail about important things and that makes the story confusing and kind of boring. The book was MUCH better.

She's incredibly good at what she does, congratulations 🥳
Ms Rees did what she set out to do- I think the film is excellent.
I've just seen the movie, and I found it interesting becaus of the plot, the cast, and all the environment that the movie is set. In my opinion the film director (Dee Rees) casted the right actors for every role.
the amount of stunning shot is too damm high!!!
Ms. Rees you are an inspiration for women, black women, directors! Love your work!

yeah which explains why it was so horrible. not just female, but black. lol. good gracious, she should just quit entirely. the movie is not even being promoted on netflix anymore becuase its so bad, you have to actually look it up.
Dee Rees!!!!
I love Netflix. I love the diversity with the shows and the cast. Alongside the great content, the fact that Netflix embraces diversity is commendable 🏳️🌈🇸🇪

This has a 7% rotten rating. Every critic said it was like someone went in and deleted random chunks of the movie that would have helped it make sense.
FYI. The movie sucks 😅😅 and i remember watching news that said why this next Ben Afleck movie will finally win oscar

Yeah. She's so "great".. I watched this bullshit movie for 2 hrs and it's probably the worst I've seen in my entire life. So dont tell me she is capable of shooting something decent. No talented director ever flops like that. That said - from now on whenever I see a "Dee Rees" on a movie I'm just gonna move along. Embarrassing work.

Like of you want to see stranger things season 4
Don't waste your time in this movie, there no real story, garbage
Hands down the worst movie I've ever seen. Someone took chunks out of the movie and it literally makes no sense. 6% rotten.
it felt like a watching an amature improv class. terrible.
What a shitty movie it ended up being
now i understand why this movie was so horrible. like every aspect including the narrating, filming, etc was so bad. but i get it, the director is not just a female, but shes also black. lol. geez it was soo bad. 6% on rotten tomatoes. the worst film of the entire year or years by far.
