Yeah, I don't know what was worse, the Van Damme movie's take on him or the cartoon's. Dee Jay is badass, and it's awesome to see him kicking ass like he always should be.

And he says "maximum" in one of his moves but the pants he's wearing no longer says "maximum" like WTF?!?! No way man OG Deejay looks way way way way way better. Granted I like the shades. Thats cool. Oldschool deejay means business. New deejay should be called "generic Jamaican man". Ps. My roots are Jamaican. The inspiration for deejay was a kickboxing character that American Billy blanks played. They removed "MAXIMUM" off his pants and he now says "MAXIMUM" in one of his moves!!! Like how does that make any sence!?!?! They took away the flat top with the rat tails!! These are the two things that were signature Deejay AND THEY TOOK IT OUT! Thats the equivalent of changing Guile by removing his flat top and giving him long flowing dreadlocks , take away his amaerican flag tattoos and then putting him in swim trunks. Yes he looks MORE Jamaican but less like Deejay.

I kinda dig how in the older games he has this super cheery and musical personality but also has this undeniable intimidation factor going on at all times It's like a comedian telling you jokes with a fuckin Yakuza behind them silently giving you the death glare. New Dee Jay seems so nice and care free its almost like he doesn't even realize he's fighting someone.

Nowadays, the fuckin' Yakuza that used to be behind him's too busy partying along with the rest of the crowd...but he sure as hell taught the comedian how to make sure his foes are the punchline.

I never really cared about dee jay but the way they did him in sf6 made me really love the character

I feel the EXACT OPPOSITE of you. I like OG DEEJAY the best.. at least in looks. Visually he is way way way way over styled. Visually I the deejay looks way worse. Old school CLEAN looking deejay over this. It's like they just vomited a rainbow on deejay and then took away his signature hair and "maximum" pants. Then FLIP FLOPS?!?! He's wearing flip flops?!?!? Horrid.

In SF6 he finally feels like a complete character. In the previous titles he feels like a filler character, what with a lot of his sprites getting repeated over and over.

The first time a SF2 sequel explored his fighting style properly. He was never well treated in other games and always looked like a sub class SF2 veteran compared to the others. Now he gained the same level of care of others.

The story I heard was that the game files had room for one more character when they were developing Super, Capcom Japan asked the USA division to design a character for that slot, and CapUSA gave them Dee Jay.

Dee Jay got that exaggerated swagger of a Jamaican superstar

I love Dee Jay I am glad he is back in Street Fighter 6 and I hope Fei Long will return in Street Fighter 6 as DLC in Season 2 for Bruce Lee and his legacy

Hard to put in a character that almost as identical to Marshal Law in Tekken that's already a good representation of Bruce Lee. If anything SF already did a better job putting in a middle eastern character such as Rashid that's way more popular than than its Tekken counterpart

Always liked Deejay, having supers that have both puches and kicks made me love him play style. So happy he's top tier in SF6.

My favorite fictional Jamaican kickboxer. His movelist upgraded in Street Fighter Alpha 3 😎🇯🇲

I didn't play SF games, but I did know some of the character visuals. I didn't know who Deejay was in SF6 until I see this video. "Oh, it was this guy." He looks very different than past SF games including the impression he's giving in.

I love how he was my favorite character to play on ultra ssf2 and now I can appreciate new moves new grooves and a stylish new makeover all while kicking and punching nice

it feels like they didn't know what they were doing with this character and his original design was more a street boxer rather then what he is now even in the other games it felt like the same with sprinkled identity crisis morracas coming out of no where then finally landing on SF6 version of Him. i mean when i saw SF6 version i thought he was a brand New character now I just realize he was so generic in original games.

You guys are totally insane. I absolutely despise his new look and I love the clean look of OG deejay. Like im wondering if yall are getting paid to say his old look sucks. He's a kickboxer. His old outfit is a kickboxer. The flat top was the trend in the 90s the word maximum makes sence on his pants as that's what he says now. The two rat tails flying around as he does his moves are awesome. Like wtf are you guys talking about? Now he wears FLIP FLOPS in a fight? Deejay is a Character thats Very Hard to Use, but once you mastered it, Ppl will Know your Awesome

After all these years I can't believe theirs a Street Fighter: The Movie: The Game. The digitized graphics kind of grow on you. I saw it in theaters as a kid. Who knew it would spawn a early KZread meme "Of Course!" I did always like his stage theme from Super Street Fighter II Turbo.

Ngl i still play ultra sf 4, DeeJay is one of my mains along with Ibuki, Ken, Decapre and Juri, and ngl seing those new combos of his makes me want to get the game 👀

If you are at low hp (yellow) then the lv 3 becomes Critical Art and deals extra dmg. Also a raw lv 3 can do a lot of dmg like KOF but if it's in a combo then it will be subjected to damage scaling
