Douglas Glenn Colvin, known as Dee Dee Ramone, was an American musician born on September 18, 1951, and he passed away on June 5, 2002. He played bass and helped start the punk rock band called the Ramones. Dee Dee wrote a lot of the band's songs, like "53rd & 3rd," "Chinese Rock," "Commando," "Wart Hog," "Rockaway Beach," "Poison Heart," and "Bonzo Goes To Bitburg" (also called "My Brain Is Hanging Upside Down"). In 1986, "Bonzo Goes To Bitburg" won an award for best independent single of the year in New York. The album it was on, Animal Boy, also won an award for best album.

Since Johnny didn't play guitar in a lot of studio recordings, and here we got 3/4 of Ramones + Daniel Rey on guitars it's kinda safe calling this the Ramones' last breath

Johnny played guitar in all songs (except Baby I Love You of course), what he didn't play was solos and overdubs

Facu Maresca not true in the end he would hand the guitar to whoever could get it done the fastest and he never soloed which a lot of later songs had solos

@@smileprettymusic yes. He had other people do overdubs. But he recorded a rhythm track on every song.

@@chrislefler3554 exactly. He was on all the tracks (sans Baby I Love You). He just had others handle most overdubs (although he occasionally did overdubs too. He played acoustic overdubs on a lot of early tracks). It legit blows my mind how often I'll come across wrong info posted by somebody in a comments section that's written with unshaken confidence. It's such an arrogant thing to do.

Why can't Joey look into the mirror until his UFO lands? Such an odd (but somehow fitting) lyric. Anyone?

I think the UFOs are hallucinations brought on by emotional trauma. The inability to look in the mirror could be due to the confusion that the singer is feeling. He doesn't know whether he's an alien or not- "Did I get here on a rocket? Or did I come from another planet?" Put another way, he isn't sure if he's normal or not. Looking in the mirror will help to confirm his identity, but he wants to touch down first to make doubly sure. Maybe 'landing' is also code for coming down from an acid trip. On a bad trip, looking in mirrors may reveal terrifying images. Another possibility is that 'till I land' is actually 'too light lamp'. Those are the words according to the net- are the singer's eyes just hurting? Actually, I guess that 'till I land' is correct. It makes me think of the old idea that a man with a guilty conscience cannot look himself in the eye in the mirror. Here, the character is going to face up to himself, but he needs a little time first to settle his emotions or to recover from a hallucinogen.
