Decoupage with Mulberry Paper, basic how-to apply mulberry paper to glass to start a project

This is a beginning tutorial to explain how to apply your basic mulberry paper base before decoupaging on an image. This is the first in a series as we create a small decorative votive for gifting. Any questions let me know, happy Krafting.

I have a cabinet that has a glass/plastic insert in the door. Been struggling with what to do, and found out about mulberry paper today. New subscriber!

I'm a new subscriber and I really enjoyed your video it was very informative. But one thing I would like to know is what is the wooden tool that you have below that you're sitting your glass down on that looks like it would be extremely helpful and I would like to buy one thank you in advance

Hi Pam, I call it a hands free craft stand. I designed it and my husband makes them. I have them on my Etsy if you are interested.

I tried mulberry paper for tbe first time. I printed a butterfly butterfly design I created myself through canva. I thought it was recommended to paint the jar first with white chalk paint then let dry overnight. I did that and added the mulberry paper. It tuned out amazing until I added fairy lights. It looks horrible but I really wanted lights or a tea candle. It shows a bumch of lines and you can't see the butterfles. Any recommendations on how to achieve this? 😢

Hi, so the paint is the issue. Paint tends to look splotchy when you add lights. For me I use one or the other. If I want to add lights for a lantern effect I use iridescent medium on the glass, mulberry paper and my design. If I use paint it’s applied in multiple layers to make it opaque and no lights. The only time I will combine is like in this piece where I’m lightly sponging some paint on for a lace effect.
