Hi, 2 questions. Is that a polyurethane varnish at the end? 2. I notice most napkins are white around the design that is cut out and put on a white background, so the edge blends into the paint. How do you compensate for the edges if you're using a white paint and the design is printed on a blue napkin (for example) - meaning do you hide the perimeter of the design? Very nice product you made. :)

How to use two steps crackle varnish: 1. Apply the Step 1 of crackle varnish. Dry it for 2 - 3 hours without a hairdryer. Step 1 must become transparent completely! 2. Apply the Step 2 of crackle varnish. Leave it to dry for 3-5 hours without a hairdryer. Fine cracks will appear on drying. If the cracks are not appear in 4- 6 hours, you can use hairdrier to give a boost.

Do you ever put varnish on the bottom outside of the box or is it only painted?
@SvetlanaAist
5 жыл бұрын
I put varnish onto the all surfaces outside of the box.
@szd9652
5 жыл бұрын
So, when I apply the acrylic varnish to the top of the box, prior to applying the crackle product, I just varnish the whole box? Or do I varnish the bottom after I put the gold paste wax on it?
@SvetlanaAist
5 жыл бұрын
When the crackle varnish (both steps) is completely dry, you need to apply patina to appeared cracks, then - in 2-4 hours apply solvent based varnish on all surfaces (except the inside part of the box because the special powder was applied onto the inside) also onto the bottom. When solvent varnish completely dry you can apply wax. You don't need to aplly varnish on the wax.

So, when I apply the acrylic varnish to the top of the box, prior to applying the crackle product, I just varnish the whole box? Or do I varnish the bottom after I put the gold paste wax on it?

When the crackle varnish (both steps) is completely dry, you need to apply patina to appeared cracks, then - in 2-4 hours apply solvent based varnish on all surfaces (except the inside part of the box because the special powder was applied onto the inside) also onto the bottom. When solvent varnish completely dry you can apply wax. You don't need to aplly varnish on the wax.

Well, I have one more question. I bought everything off your list, from your store. Apparently I have 2 glossy varnishes; one is solvent based and one is water based. Am I supposed to have 2? Which one do I use?

Well I guess my question should have been is there a benefit to using the wax paste vs paint? is one better than the other?
