It’s so nice to see how others use primitive in their decor. I have sooo many favorites among primitive pieces but I must say high on the list is the quaint cloth covered books….I’m thrilled to have 4 legitimate old ones. This was a beautiful rendition….TFS

Some especially beautiful furniture - the tiger maple pieces and the sideboard with the raw edge and the corner cupboard really caught my eye. The clock her grandfather bought for her grandmother is a sweet memento and I enjoyed thinking of a boy having a sword fight with a table soldier. Bet he won every time :) Wonderful that the lady of the house is a quilter. Thank you for the tour of this beautiful home, also very much enjoyed seeing how she used wainscoting and color to make the rooms look period.

Yes, the age of the home doesn't mean you can't decorate this way. Paint color and fabric choices can make all the difference.

I love the simplicity of this house! Allows her prims to shine. Yesterday I watched a video where someone had furniture stacked in front of larger furniture, collections piled on top of one another. I get an anxiety attack looking at it. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Did you ever hear of the wooden potato mashers referred to as "beetles"? Back in the late 70's I lived in Columbus OH and a dealer in Germantown told me this.

@@Thecapeonthecorner i googled wooden potato masher and it said sometimes called a "beetle" but still can't find out why! One article I read stated Scotland as a source for the name, but didn't state why.

I think you have it backwards, it's called a stepback because the top is stepped back from the base as opposed to being flush.
