Charlamagne benefits from DEI and we all benefit when we believe in the most high. We have to prove ourselves and improve ourselves educational and economical not for bragging rights and French benefits, but to enhance and give chances to our future leaders, aka our youth. Don't take DEI for granted. We all succeed because we believe in the most high and will give credit to the light of DEI but there's a lot of work still to do!

We don’t need a master class we need a class in history if you take out time to learn the history you’ll learn that everything that comes from out of the mouth of Roland Martin comes from history. Study your history. It will make sense to you of how all of this came to be. Start with Roland Martin book of “ White Fear” then go into the history of how we got here what actually took place in those times read books or listen to audible. Watch videos it’s all here. Find out what’s been going on in the United States. Find out what laws were in place to divide and conquer who was the President of these times. Who were the Tuskegee airmen? What happened to the people during the Oklahoma 1920s. It’s so much but u gotta do your due diligence. What President helped with the crack initiative. Who was Emmitt Till? Study and find yourself approved.

Wow! Roland, my BROTHER, you hit the nail on the head on DEI & Affirmative Action. I grew up in poverty, the barrio, orphaned, living in different homes. Yet what saved me was access to a university education, graduated with honors, taught for over 30 years, read & educated myself to many of social, economic, & political issues of my lifetime. From a micro perspective, our advanced industrial society that has become a predominantly service oriented economy, needs doctors, lawyers, educators, & trained experts in engineering & high tech. We are dealing with complexity & you are able to systematically breakdown the critical issues of our time in laymen's terms. The serious flaw in the attacks on Affirmative Action is the fact that it is impossible to design a method for determining academic success & abilities. Legacies, connections, & endowments give opportunities to the privileged few, many of which are woefully incompetent, Donald Trump being the poster child of true mediocrity from the upper class. You are truly a leader that I cherish & respect.

But he's right it was always garbage it was never meant to create change. It was the purpose of DNA with twofold. 1. By people are angry pissed off about George Floyd it was a perfect catalyst for us to actually unite and start focusing on the African-American community in building power. Corporations and government agencies claiming to support Dion was simply an effort to Swart any plans or goals to generate power amongst our community members. 2. Corporations wanted to keep black money. And so they put these ads out hired DEI consultants and they kept those jobs in place just long enough for our emotions to subside. Now that that has happened and Derek Chauvin has been put behind bars it's back to business as usual. My question is when will y'all stop falling for white folks manipulations and start focusing on building power for our community????

You have articulated the fundamental baseline of the resistance. Fear, racism, and lack of accountability. And you are absolutely correct that there must be a shared partnership with White leaders in order for DEI to truly work in this country. Far too many DEI positions in corporations are merely window dressing. I know this because I’ve been out here a long time, and I see these organizations all the time. It will take standing up and speaking our truth in order for real progress and sustainable success to champion and defeat the naysayers. 🌹

Is Charlamagne an industry plant. As a Black American who have worked 24 years in fortune 500 companies I can definitely say that DEI is needed. Yes my white co-workers hate it but it is needed to somewhat have to listen to information about other non-white people. If we didn't do DEI training, these people who have no interactions with Black Americans outside of work wouldn't have that little bit of information to maybe start to get them to think different. Charlamagne's comments on the daily show is the same comments that every racist use and is right out of Candance Owens racist against Black Americans rants. The only thing Charlamagne did which was sneaky was throw out the racist right wing talking points then throw a few comments that would resonate with black people. I think John Stewart brought Charlamagne out to do this bit he did not want to do himself. I work for a corporation that has a female C.E.O who prioritized DEI and I started at the company that that was mostly lily white in the salary ranks and immediately when she took over I saw more black people and other minorities. The the company started transitioning to new technologies and guess who driving this business mostly all minorities from across the globe and many more Black Americans. I would always like to see more black people in the company, DEI was been good for the place I work.

Even though Charlemagne was trying to make a valid point about the ineffectiveness of DEI and the insincere commitment to it, his delivery played right into the hands of Republicans and conservatives. His focus was on the paucity of results instead of the fact that America isn't truly committed to it.

CTG has a great platform to do great things,so sad that he has sold himself out.He wants a larger conservative white audience and he knows the best way to fatten his pockets and gain conservative white support is to diss his own people, shame on you CTG.

Thanks Roland, for enlightening me on divisive topics I had questions about. Though I was already familiar with 95% of these matters as a Black man, I tuned out after 2014 due to health issues. Your segment updated me on current issues, equipping me with relevant facts to discuss with younger family members. Also, you can count me as a new subscriber! Much love my brother.

the reinvention of Charlamagne from controversial radio jock who oversteps his boundaries with celebrities and jokes about gay sex with his co-host to expert political analyst of Black America is the wildest and probably most successful PR spin-job I've seen in a while.
