4:17 Can never not hear Avalanches - Close To You on this part here :) Great video as always.
Brilliant, thank you.
👏
Oh wow that Moog Machine track was also sampled in one of my favourite tracks by The Avalanches, "Close To You"

Yes! Strangely enough, that song came up in a random playlist I was listening to last night. Awesome track and interesting usage.

@@KarlBoltzmann They actually dropped Get It Together in a DJ set for Triple Js Mix Up. It was my intro to the song. Still in rotation constantly

'Closer To You' also sampled a part of 'Shake Your Rump' by the Beastie Boys.
Great work! I think double entendres peaked in 1977: "The drums come from Fred Wesley and the Horny Horns from their track Four Play from their 1977 album A Blow for Me and a Toot for You." I'm surprised you got through that with a straight face!

I will admit that I had to do a few takes reading that name
Hell yeah, great choice!
Thanks once again Karl 👏 Keep it up mate 👍

I appreciate it James!
Great video, thank you for sharing! I'm a huge fan of a Danish hip-hop producer band called The Prunes, and my fav track of Beastie Boys is their remix of "Root Down", that they called "Free Zone Mix" to make things unnecessary complicated.

Hey, that's amazing! I haven't heard that remix in years! I had a rip of it on my comp back in the day but didn't recognize the name. Root Down is also one of my favourites, but frankly, Check Your Head and Ill Communication are both very solid front to back.
Awesome video man, thanks for breaking down a great tune!

Glad you liked it!
Thanks Karl for dropping this one. Always loved the Ill communication album and especially this song because of how Q Tip flows on this one. Never noticed that the actual song structure is pretty straight forward. So thanks for focusing on that. I'd love see you break down Deltron 3030 - 3030. Give it a thought. 😉 Take care, Karl! Grtz DD.

Thanks DD! It is deceptively simple, I will say. That chorus bass sample took me a while to figure out exactly how it was done. The detail I love most about this track is how the drum sample and the bass/keys are fairly mundane until you put them together and then bam! Perfection. It's like they were made for each other. Deltron is awesome. I will look into working on one of his tracks.
Wow I love this.❤
Love this song and this deconstruction! Brings back memories.
