Let me just say this for people who have no idea what "parked" means. If you do not plan on moving forward as soon as it is safe to do so, you are parked. Waiting for someone, parked. Taking a call on the side of the road, parked.

A lot of people seem to be under the impression that if there's someone inside the car, it cannot be considered parked. But just because someone is inside the car, doesn't magically mean they're not obstructing the road anymore. If you go into a mall and tell your driver to sit outside on hazards for 15 minutes, he's parked - whether he's behind the wheel or not.

Increase the penalty for illegal parking.

If people just followed the rules ALL of the time not just when it's convenient for them there would be no problems especially for those who defend them.

The regular enforcement is needed to educate motorists, even if improvement seems piecemeal.

When will you clear E. Rodriguez Sr Ave, QC near Araneta Ave? There are permanent cars obstructing at least one lane across Delos Santos Hospital. Thumbs up if you also like to see this road cleared. 👍🏼

Towing works a bit better than just ticket . The time ,hassle they will spend is deterrent for people. Years of conditioned habit is hard to break .

Government needs to improvise some towing trucks like some other countries..In and out for five minutes…. It would surely deter illegal parking everywhere😉

its not just clearing edsa. we also need to give motorists a reason why they dont need to use edsa. like build other commercial huds elsewhere with same salary as those located in makati, ortigas, or bgc.

Its very ironic. Towed cars are being sent to marikina but marikina is notorious for implementing one side parking.

They have to create a far far holding area for towed vehicles instead of just markina

ngl, the last time I was in Manila... bruh, Divisoria looks clear and wide as hell, sure still crowded in the streets where the stalls are but the highway there tho but still

This law makers should be serious in penalizing, illegal parkers. they keep on being "bida bida" on TV like investigating things which is not part of their job description lol

According to a screenshot that's being passed around, the MMDA want to make that part of the exclusive bus lane into a shared section. But I've not yet seen any official statement from DOTr or MMDA on that matter. So until that time, I would urge caution.

This just show how UNDISCIPLINED FILIPINO DRIVERS are. No one cares if they are blocking the main road, the important thing are they do what they need to do. MMDA should start raising the fine and by point system, if they reached the point, they will be given suspended license

It's very unfortunate that they weren't able to make adjustments during the single ticketing system - for illegal parking. Many people know that because of limited manpower, the chances of getting caught are already low. And even if they're on a mabuhay lane, they still might only get caught once or twice a month. If they show their license, it's only a P1,000 ticket. Even if they get hit twice in a month, it's only P2,000 - which is cheaper than giving up space on their own property for a garage, or paying for legitimate off-street parking. The penalties are so low that it doesn't act as any kind of deterrent

if i was the government. id make huge rental parking spaces. and make illegal parking like 5x the current ticket price. but we all know why they wont do that. the 5x price thing. its because thousands of squatter families who have nowhere to put their tricycles ebikes motorcycles, jeepneys taxis and private vehicles will take up arms and cry about how theyre poor and being exploited yada yada. even if tickets are doubled. it wont change anything there is nothing these people will put their vehicles. youll say these people are not squatters, guess who they will use as an excuse for parking outside their houses? yep because you see other people doing it and there is no repercussions. then i will do it too.

I don't understand, if you're not wearing a helmet it's 1500 but if you're wearing an unauthorized helmet it's 3000? Why not make it the same? I don't understand the logic.

I guess the intention is to dissuade people from using substandard or unauthorized helmets. When someone isn't wearing a helmet, it's very easy for enforcers to notice it, and the chances of being caught are quite high (if the enforcer wants to apprehend it). Compared to substandard or unauthorized helmets, some of them even look like a genuine helmet, even though it's essentially just a brittle plastic. So a lot of those violators would pass by, without ever getting caught. But if they DO get caught, the penalty is much higher. But then again, it could just be something as simple as that being a newer penalty, putting it inline with other newer penalties which are generally more expensive.

@@GadgetAddict my guess is by wearing a substandard helmet, there is intent to deceive authorities. similar to driving without a license and with a fake one, the latter has criminal implications.

I feel sorry for that delivery rider who had to untape everything just to get to his wallet. That's the worst place to keep your papers if you get flagged down. 😂 His tape surely lost its adhesiveness after being exposed. I wonder how he put it all back together.

really ironic how motorists complain about traffic and blame the govt but wantonly waste 1, even 2 lanes, just for parking. and just like that white suv driver complaining, probably saying na hindi illegal parking kasi nasa loob sya, magdadahilan na "sandali lang" o "nakakadaan pa naman mga sasakyan" kahit na 1 lang na lang natitira for both directions.
