Decoding the new criminal laws

As curtains fall on the colonial-era criminal codes, Aaratrika Bhaumik, Senior-Sub Editor of The Hindu is joined by Supreme Court advocate Nipun Saxena to discuss the potential ramifications of the new penal laws. The discussion will explore why concerns have been raised against the laws purportedly expanding police powers at the expense of civil liberties. It will also provide insight into the addition of new offences and their implications for the criminal justice system.
This session promises to offer a comprehensive understanding of the new laws. Tune in to The Hindu at 6 PM for this insightful discussion.

Excellent work. The expert really simplified and lucidly described the horrors of rushed Criminal Laws. Jo sun raha hu iske hisaab se ye bhi teen kaale kanoon hain.😢

Madam, successive amendments in the CRPC, etc. have already denuded it's colonial features. Thus, the decolonization is just limited to changing their English names into SANSKRIT nomenclatures and juggling with their Sections numbers

Looks like we are going back to colonial laws in actual while names are being labelled as Indian.

Saxema Saab, while I fully endorse your viewpoints and arguments, I have reasons to believe that the EMPIRICAL impacts of these new tenets have not been fully dissected, before these laws were passed. However, Saxenajee, there are several variables that build up into a criminal case, factors like the GRAVITY OF CASE, CIRCUMSTANTiAl EVIDENCE, MATERIAL WITNESSES., etc. These could hold water even in the absence of ultra-technology assets. FORENSiC TECHNOLOGY USUAGES are needed only, and only if, the case cannot GO FORWARD without the aid of FT assets. This only delays the process of investigation and the pronouncement of the verdict. JUSTICE DELAYED IS JUSTICE DENiED..... especially for innocent victims of gross miscarriage of justice.
