I agree but also growing up with it (born jan 2000), I also definitely noticed it… it was like a guilty pleasure of mine or something like some type of ASMR to my eyes cuz it was so pleasing.. 2:07 esp! Like Disney channel site, CW 4KIDS TV, JETEX TVS got my attention….. advertisements, logos, box art were so captivating for me as a kid like I loved it sm and paid attention to designs and fonts on magazines and Tv.

@@RapshoutI am honestly curious what the main design direction will be in 20 years, and what people will call/how they will look back on the simplified, sleek "corporate" designs that are used a lot rn. The main reason so many designs today are so simplified is because logos need to be immediately recognizable at a glance as a tiny icon on a phone screen, thus prioritizing big, homogenous blocks of color to catch people's attention without becoming muddied and blending together. Frutiger Aero was so "3d" primarily to show off the tech of new HD TV and computer screens back in the 2000s. Y2K had such a focus on monochrome color schemes because of the limitations of screens and tech at the time, while still trying to appear futuristic and sleek at the turn of the millennium. As tech changes, how will the graphic design around it change and adapt around its abilities and limitations? We can only guess. Whatever the case, can't wait for the 2050s equivalent of vaporwave that uses samples from Meta and Kroger ads and has album covers that are hyper-simplified blocks of color that only barely communicate a concept lol

I feel like im back in my living room. we had one windows computer, when windows 7 existed. I remmeber watching barbie movies on the computer on illegal websites and lion king (it was my favorite movie). SMS existed and i had the joy of my brother showing me how to type smileys, like XD. I was flabbergasted lmao. Every sunday we would be eating breakfast together and watching dragonball on tv. These sunny days whenwe would be playing outside with the neighbor's kids, catching butterflies, building sandcastles. Then in fall, playing with the leaves in the garage (it was like a community garage, or whatever you call it and there was a path, which led to other houses and lots of playgrounds).

A quick search tells me that the pronunciation of Frutiger is [ˈfruːtɪɡər] (FROO-ti-gur), but it seems there's a lot of other varying pronunciations that other people use. But after listening to native (Swiss) German speakers, I believe that [ˈfruːtɪɡər] is the closest English pronunciation to the German pronunciation.

By the way. Its spoken "Frooteeger" . (Atleast you spoke the g right, which most people do wrong.) Frutiger was a guy from Switzerland and in the German Language, I is spoken like in "Involvement", "Indoors" etc. The english "I" = "ai" does not exist in german. You need to put another vowel like "a" or "e" in front of the i to get the english sound.
