It's so satisfying to see everything well sorted and organized though you really have a lot of diy and arts stuff! I usually struggle when it comes to sorting things into categories. But you did very well and like a wonder your categories fit perfectly into your drawers...well done:D Already looking forwardt to the next video!

Thank you! I really like them! I like the wooden colored ones because they add warmth to the place and the different things you can attach make it so versatile! I've seen people using the wooden board + black attachments and it looks really good!

I am so afraid to do so because it means a big personal sacrifice about what is there is in that room now and I will have to give it up with deep sadness because of what it means and meant to my father... but I know is something that won't help me either being there now that he no longer enjoys it, it won't make me feel joy but sadness, it won't make me feel good but bad... so I know I must get rid of it but it is such a sad challenge...

You should definitely read the KonMari book! I love it because she talks exactly about that! Marie Kondo says that we hold onto things for one of two emotional reasons: a fear of the future or to preserve the past. You can of course keep things that have sentimental value to you and you want to remember things. Don't want you to regret anything! But sometimes it's important to let go of things to make room for new opportunities! Keep me updated

Thank you very much for your words, they mean a lot because they show you care and I really appreciate that you care and are encouraging me. You are right, and Marie Kondo is, the problem is to preserve the past and the fact that what it is in that room was my father's dream which he prepared with all his work and passion. But nobody will use it anymore and it is collecting dust in that room. Bringing down everything he built seems like selfish for me and makes me feel pretty bad to destroy that what he built, just so I can use the room now... but I need that room. I have heard the Konmari audio book and it didn't really tickle me enough, I guess reading it would make much more sense. Thank you very much again for your support.

You can always donate things so his items bring others joy! He built all that so it can be used, and since you wouldn't use it, they are just collecting dust and don't serve anymore, which was their purpose! I think so many people would dream to have all the things he built! They would serve their purpose to someone else and I think that would be a great thing :) Maybe there is a kinder-garden/art school with rooms where you can just bring and donate the items? Then everything would find a new home and don't go to waste! I wouldn't like the thought of just throwing away things that have sentimental value to me because they are important to me. But the thought that they serve someone else and bring joy to others while still existing, is something completely different and I think I could live with that!

Whenever I watch mako's videos I sleep in the middle cuz of her soothing and peaceful voice💖

I'm in the beginning planning process for upgrading, organizing and making my small 2nd room which is my art space, office, and has a twin bed for a guest. It is such a mess now, and I hate digging through the closet to find what I need. This was so inspiring, like I watched it twice and made note of the Alex drawers. I'm so hitting up Ikea next week! Thank you for sharing, it looks wonderful. Can't wait for the next one.

Aww I'm glad I could help! This was my goal for this craft room! I had so many boxes in my old apartment. Everything was organized by category but there were so many things that it was so much work to dig myself through the whole boxes to find something! It's so freeing and great to know you can just open the drawer and see exactly what you have and where everything is!

I love this video so much. I’m not a professional in any of these crafts, but I do love trying new crafts for a hobby. So I tend to need to store lots of wool even if I knit just some weeks a year, candle making stuff even if I do it once in a blue moon for a gift, linoprint tools because once I tought it was so cool, lots of premade stamps because there are periods in which I do some cardmaking… you name it! It’s so difficult to store scrapbooking paper and art paper for different techniques and bookbinding tools plus fountain pen inks… and then regular stationery hoarding 😂 I appreciate the work you put to organise everything so well here. A time will come in which I’ll declutter my stuff, but not today! I have my acrylic and watercolor paints well sorted for now lol

I don’t get rid of anything. I always end up wanting or needing something I just threw out. It’s a terrible feeling, plus makes me spend more. I love recycling stuff so I keep everything I don’t use in large storage boxes in my balcony, knowing that when my creative juices flow and I don’t have anything on hand those things would come handy. It has never let me down. I’ve probably created over six functioning diys all from stuff I’ve stored. So the Konmari method isn’t for me, but I do love watching a good organization video. My day is complete. Thanks.

DREAM ART ROOM!!!

I Love this! I wanted to watch this months ago when you first posted but some how over looked it. I LOVE LOVE LOVE Ikea storage for a art/craft room. I have the old towel bars for my paper punches. I wished I would have bought about 12 more before they were discontinued. They were only 2.99 a piece. I have those little hanging cups/baskets as well. I adore them. I have an Ikea cart that they hang onto as well. I really want to go get another rolling cart. I will use it for sure. I love that you have a spirograph!! I had one when I was a kid and I have thought about getting one for just fun. Thanks so much for sharing how you decluttered and reorganized. There is an Action Center in my town that helps women and children from Domestic Violence. I plan to donate any of my art supplies that I will no longer use. I was also thinking of donating supplies to a center for Autistic children. Your room is beautiful and you have inspired me to get with it and reorganize!!

I love how you organised this. I am so happy for you. My art supplies are all in a dresser (3 drawers FULL of different medium papers, paints, charcoal, soft pastels Colour Crayons etc...) and all the Crayons I use are beside me on a side table and Sketchbook. When I finally get my art/craft area set up it will be so nice to just have a place for everything and be able to start a project without having to pack it up and put it away. LOL I can't wait to see how you decorated your new space. SO exciting! xo

Aww yes! I used to have a few small shelves full of boxes with different craft supplies. But it was so much work to find anything even though I organized everything by category back then as well. All those boxes drove me crazy 😂
