I kinda miss the days where I would just get books from the library, read them, enjoy them, and take them back and get more I'm small doses. Now I'm surrounded by mountains of books. It was satisfying to watch this. Sorry about your teacher position. I low-key feel like the public school system is going to shut down or collapse unless teachers get the help and pay raises they need and deserve.

I’m a minimalist. I love David Sedaris as well. Got rid of one large bookshelf and 13 medium sized boxes of books. Yaaay, me. Was nice to see a decluttering video that dealt more with literature.

That’s amazing!!

Don't hold onto books you don't like, won't read, or feel you've outgrown. Don't hang onto books just because other people like them (even if it's Harry Potter). When you look at your bookshelf, every book should make you excited to read. I saw you had some Redwall books. Seeing some of those books reminded me of trips to the library when I was younger.

Good job, I wish I was this good at decluttering books.

Nooo not out of the dust that was my favorite book as child that sparked my joy for reading 😭 I have it in my collection and I’m never getting rid of it!!!

I have the same water bowl for my cats! Also, I liked your reasoning for letting go of books. I have to remind myself that it is OK to let go if I no longer have an interest in it.

I was always the odd student out who LOVED reading!! I would’ve so appreciated your lessons and shelves of books to pick from💗 i loved hearing all your random thoughts and stories to your books in this vid

I'm planning to leave the country and my four book shelves easily filled 16 boxes of books when moving. Now I need to get rid of most books and I'm happy to notice that I don't want to read most of them again but would be happy if friends read some of them. Some books are a result of maximalist buying and I've never read them. Now I'll read some of them quickly or digitise them before giving them away. In general giving away good books I no longer need is super relieving. I actually burned a few books by fascists and Nazis because I didn't want anyone to read that garbage and it was cold outside so they were actually useful for once.

I am looking up Nobody's Princess now. I started writing down titles, but I do need to pair down my books. But I also have books for my kids, so I need to figure it out. You slightly inspired me to try. I am trying to motivate myself.

Now what do you do with all the discards?

I need to declutter my books too. But first I should also at least read the ones I have not read and then decide what to keep or not. And then hear my mom chastise me because 'Why do you buy books and then get rid of them.' Only the ones I didn't like okay, mom. xD I would love to have a home library, but honestly I just don't have the space. So, I'm now trying to be conscious of what physical books I actually buy. The rest I get from the library or buy through kindle or audiobook.
