    Backed this game on Kickstarter after seeing your review of the previous version. Concept meets Clue? With a traitor?! Looks awesome.

    Worth mentioning that it pretty much requires 6+ players. Mysterium works with fewer.

    I want to see you guys play this. I was impressed by CS files when you reviewed that. Mysterium was the first thing that came to mind, that and it seems to have a group dynamic similar to that of Avalon. One team perpetrating the crime; and another team, one unbeknownst to the criminals has a lot of information.

    I remember seeing a little coverage about this game a while back, and thinking it looked interesting. I had forgotten about it until I noticed this review. Now that I know a little more about it, it's a definite buy for me. My family often wants to play Clue, so this will be a great game to introduce them to. Thanks for reminding me of this game!

    I wouldnt say this is Mysterium killer. This works with more players and mysterium with 4-5. Think for this game to shine needs something like 7-9, cant imagine to play it with four.

    I don't own Deception: Murder in Hong Kong yet but I think I'd choose to play that over Mysterium just because of set up time. Mysterium takes awhile to sort everything and get playing.

    I was thinking exactly the same thing. This is obviously a game for bigger groups, and more in the party game genre, whereas Mysterium typically only has two plays in one evening because it takes a while longer.

    I think they made a big mistake in not making the Murder Weapon the red cards.

    They aren't murder weapons Tom actually miss spoke. The rules say its "Means" and "Evidence". For example there is one Means card which is "Surgery". Doesn't mean they were killed by the surgery, just that that is how the murderer was able to kill them. So they could have been poisoned, or cut, or drowned during surgery

    Awesome. Looks like a good game for a large lunch group as well. If you go to the Kickstarter page you can pick it up, along with the stretch goals for the original backer price. The shipping date was December 2015, but they say they're ahead of schedule.

    My family, who are not really into the board game hobby, love this game! I can break this game out at a gathering and teach it in about five minutes. Every time we’ve played we’ve always had a surprise deduction, and a ton of laughs!

    I backed this once I realized it was CS Files, but improved and renamed. I almost missed it on the KS campaign because I wasn't looking for it under a different name. I was sufficiently impressed by the CS Files review you did a while ago to subscribe to its feed and keep an eye open for the game. This one looks like it would be fun and a good deduction game if we can get a couple more people together.

    Seems like a really fun game. One question though, what is the point of having conversation, or guessing, before the Forensic Scientist has a chance to replace all his clues? Wouldnt it be a lot faster to allow the FS to just pick 4 of 6 tiles and use those?

  • @kp7008

    @kp7008

    linguotgr conversation is the most important part of the game. Investigators need to talk out what they think based on clues, so fs can know which cards give best info and which ones need to be replaced

    no way is this a Mysterium killer. I find Mysterium to be much better, as I think the Dixit/Clue combo works better than Resistance/Concept

  • @avisian8063

    @avisian8063

    I have found that Mysterium only works as a game if you relax the rules about drawing new cards. Dies a death in most groups I have played it with unless the ghost draws and plays new cards to keep it going. Otherwise its a long game that's difficult to win, that feels like its impossible for most of the game. DMiHK works with a much broader range of people I feel.

  • @spiderfingers86

    Dave Lynam the ghost draws a new card every time one is given to a psychic player. Not sure what "relaxed" rules you're referring to.

    I must be absolutely mad, or the person explaining it had it all wrong but I hated it. The game kinda ended and we weren't even close to the correct answer. Pretty much everyone else felt the same, so we moved on to another game immediately after.

    JevousGaming i think ur group.must be not too good with logic. With my group, unless the fs is really illogical or murder is really good, investigators win most of the time, or very close to.win. Suggestion would be for your group to not focus what got picked but also what has not been picked.

  • @casedinlight

    It's an ok game, but once you make your guess, go get some food, talk to other people, go to the bathroom, come back, and players are STILL discussing the same things that they were when you left, it gets old very fast. I honestly didn't even care who the murderer was by the end. I didn't care if we won or lost. It's just another "You did it. No you did it." game. My review: Play it once. Don't buy it. Wait for someone to suggest it.

    Wow I am just sharing facts. I had no idea what problem you had with the creator of the video. Sorry that I offended that ego of yours. And by the way go do a little search on wikipedia what is Chinese, Mandarin, Cantonese, etc, that's the least you could had done.

  • @Trevin_Taylor

    Leos Ng with a little research, as suggested, it seems the written chinese is called "Han", which is based on mandarin. there are separate traditions for cantonese, etc. so mandarin, like i said.

  • @LuchesChan

    @LuchesChan

    7 жыл бұрын

    Ok now that we are in back in proper discussion Yes, you are right. It is called Han zi (the word of han) after the Chinese Han dynasty, but the origins of that written form go beyond that. And in fact it's only unified by the Qin Emperor. There are no unique written form of words or letters for Cantonese etc, there may be very specified words that can only pronounced using different dialects, but those are also considered Chinese words/letters. Just look at it this way, Chinese is the board term that defined the entire family of the language, Mandarins, Cantonese and other dialects are consider a sub branch of the same family. But because Mandarin is most spoken in China and other Chinese majority countries, I am not surprised that people get confused. So in this situation, when it is written, it's correct to describe the words/letters as Chinese or Hanzi (they are interchangeable, but most non chinese wouldn't know what you meant by Hanzi). The words and letters had no sound to define them, only when it's spoken, then you can further define the spoken sounds and pronunciations further into their unique dialect of Mandarin/cantonese/etc
