I am not a big movie/tv person at this point. And that’s ok. I watch Britbox but not back to back. All the Light We Cannot See was my only binge-watch in 2023. I am going to read Dracula! 🧛 I just finished Gaudy Night. Such a thought/conversation process that would not happen much today. Loved it.

I also recently read _The Killers of the Flower Moon_ and I liked it, but it kinda broke my heart; that ending was crazy. 😲 In December, I read mostly cozies as well as my yearly re-read of _A Christmas Carol._ 🤓 I started my #weloveJenny reading a little early and in January, I read: Cleopatra (which I'm pretty sure she liked), A Night to Remember (about the Titanic) and Romeo and Juliet. I also read _Death at La Fenice_ because I was in the mood for a mystery and it's set in Italy. 🙂 I'm the worst with TBRs and following prompts, but for #weloveJenny, I'm hoping to read at least one of Shelley's poems, Richard lll, The Princes in the Tower and maybe re-read The Divine Comedy over a few months; I might also take a stab at _The Iliad,_ I dunno. . Looking forward to Belinda because Jenny really liked that one, too. Not sure what else I'll read for Febregency. 🤷🏼‍♀

great video again....i read the Neverending Story when i was 13...and it was the very first long book...i liked it!...i never knew The Meg was a book HAHA...yeah...your febregency list looks very interesting...to be honest i am not yet ready to read more of those modern books ( i used to do that a lot many years ago, but i got bored by the way of prose?...modern way of writing?...any 18th or 19th C writing is so much more beautiful than any modern book...yes that is a very naive thought haha)...i did buy PIRANESI i am also eager to read that one...and oh yes Jennifer made my buy the complete works by Lord Byron...that is out of my comfort zone,...but i do like it...not read all of it...but its interesting!

My copy of the Never Ending Story was so cool. It was just like the book in the book, written in pink and green with the drop caps at the beginning of each chapter. I lost the book. 😭 I read King Lear, i saw it here in Lisbon performed by the Renaissance group (Kenneth Branagh and Emma Thompson) and I recommend the film Ran by Akira Kurosawa.

I had no idea that The Meg was a book haha! My sister loves shark movies so she always goes to see the Meg movies. Jonathan Strange and Mr.Norrell!! I’ve had that one on my bookshelf for so long! I really want to read it this year, I feel like I’m going to love it ❤️ It’s not available in the audio subscription that I use and for some reason I have it physically and not in kindle, so I’m going to brave through the physical copy haha 😅 Oof The Sparrow! So good and so harsh! I read it a few years ago because of the Jesuit protagonist. (My family has always been very close with jesuits). And I recently found out about another “jesuit in space” book that I also really want to read! (I didn’t know Jenny was a fan of Pope Francis! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️)

Yay! A long Christy video! 😅😍♥️✨ I really loved my reread listen of The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society in December. The audiobook was so fantastic. My possible? favorites from January were probably a tie between the audiobook of The Scarlet Pimpernel and finishing the Betsy Tacy Tib Series! Currently, I’d really love to finish Vanity Fair (looooving the writing style, but not so much the characters 😂) and I’m really enjoying listening to a reread of Virgil Wander by Leif Enger. I’m reading Belinda for FebRegency and Italian poetry for We Love Jenny. 💕

I’m reading Jane Austen, of course lol, for FebRegency: Lady Susan, The Watsons, & Sanditon and I’m already reading Miss Austen by Gill Hornby. But I’m also reading The Villa for #WeLoveJenny (Which I’ve actually already started and loving so far) and I’m reading The Secret Adversary by Agatha Christie. Of and of course my daily chapters of Anna Karenina. 😅

Always nice to get a mention. Love the Death of Stalin. I'd forgotten until I re-read it how much time Testament of Youth spends on pre-WW1 and post-WW1. There's a BBC TV series and a recent film if you want to find out what happened. I did read the first Twilight book, which I thought was fine. And I could absolutely see why people loved it but it isn't my cup of tea. I haven't finalised my Feb list yet but I've got The Cenci in my Shelley, The Major Works so I'll read that. I'll read The Villa, because I'm OBSESSED with the Villa Diodati stay. There's a great Doctor Who episode about it too. In fact there's two. There's an Big Finish audio, which ends up with Mary Shelley becoming a Doctor Who companion for a short while. O Sense and Sensibility is almost a certainty. My December favs were Hyena! by Fran Lock, which was a fab poetry collection; Shakespeare: The Man Who Pays the Rent, which is Dame Judi Dench's thoughts on Shakespeare based on the parts she's played. The Facemaker, which is about the pioneering plastic surgery in WW1. Oh and North Woods by Daniel Mason, which is historical fiction set throughout the history of the United States in one location. That doesn't do it justice but really interesting read.
