one of their best songs, and solos too. I remember vividly how angry and disgusted an elderly couple who were driving in front of me were as i blasted the song. I could see their faces contort in bewilderment as the solo hit, and it'll forever be etched in my mind!

U should try using a delay sometime with lots of repeats before the distortion stage, so it will make it sound like U R picking super-fast forever =) Would make a good experiment if nothing else! Like set it to 3 or 4 repeats or whatever quantities then switch it off when U want 2 do single notes, or switch between 4 or 2 repeats & so on. It's like some drummers use delays 2 make their 'tucka-tucka' things sound faster. People would think U sound 'impossible' because nobody is really doing this 4 guitar (yet =)

OMG DOUBLE-DUH!! =:-o U should SAMPLE your guitar chunk things, & play them on a KEYBOARD with the repeats at rates U want, so when U want 2 switch 2 a different note U can IMMEDIATELY do it rather than waiting 4 the next 'end of cycle' like with a delay pedal, & U can also split the keyboard zones so U got single note keys (instead of built from repeats) & maybe even different repeat rates or patterns, etc. The Young Gods do a lot of that sampled guitar stuff. Repetitive Motion Injury waiting 2 happen? Maybe try doing fingerstyle like bass but more delicate. Like Billy Sheehan does a thing using 3 fingers instead of 2, or a pick, but he only does 1 direction. If U do both ways (alternating) can get super-fast speed with minimal work. It's like Marshall Harrison type stuff but double the speed even over 'swybrid' whatever 'theoretically' =) Instead of pick 2 directions + 2 fingers in 1 direction like he does (4 total strokes per cycle) U can have 3 (or even 4) in both directions + thumb in 2, so that's 8-10 strokes per cycle. It's not 2 hard 2 do on bass if U plan it out 4 instance, like 4 instance starting with: index down, middle up, ring down then... index up, middle down, ring up index down, middle up, ring down (repeats) Can do whatever combination U like. The idea is 2 alternate up & down 2 get more speed & consistency in the tone, mixing up & down strokes using the fingers. Marshall Harrison says he uses the pads of his fingers so this is just going both directions instead of 1 basically. I have nails but he says he doesn't use them. With nails it's easier I think but up 2 U. By 'up vs down' I mean either on the top or bottom side of a string across the face, not really 'below' the string (can't fit finger in that way, except on bass =))

Thanks for all that info! Marshall Harrison is an absolute beast for sure. When I'm going as fast s possible I really just default to economy picking. I'm not really at the skill level yet where I have very much control over my hands at these kinds of speeds 😅

An easy way to work it out with less effort is to just lie in bed with your eyes closed around sleepytime & practice the different patterns like a puzzle game with the 'picking' hand, even though U R just using fingers. I play bass & guitar so only time I use a pick is 2 get a better tone, otherwise I treat it all as 'flamenco' as in just use whatever finger is available (no particular 'positions'). For best SOUND I find using a super light touch on light strings with very thin pick = best raging distortion sound ~ very complex compressed vibe =) U could make a comedy skit of the 'bi-directional finger picking' thing where U R practicing in bed when he wants sex "NO I almost got it" or still practicing after U R lying head sideways drooling in dreamland, snoring, & practicing when U R on a stationary bike, watching TV, & chatting all at the same time (multitasking =) Eyedunno' ~ I think U would B GR8 4 movies & comedy skit stuff 'kuz U have a bubbly personality & clever lines ~ adventures of screaming DOOM gal, like that Rorcal stuff.

What's going on here is that her makeup, highlights and pickups have been specially selected so that she can make them any colour she wants using greenscreen tech
