Thank you for creating this. It truly captures the world as it once was. The 80s,90s, and 00s had a sense of "physicality" to them. Everything required a button press not a touch screen interaction. Also this video captures the sheer pride that Japanese people and the creators of anime felt for their nation as Japan was at the frontier of creating these amazing technological goods that everyone loved across the world. By including it in their works they were essentially paying homage to their countrymen and their nations achievements.

❤❤❤Thank you for your kind words! I'm glad the video resonated with you. The physicality of the 80s, 90s, and 00s truly had a unique charm.
Everything looked so high tech back in those days. Nowadays everything is so high tech that things no longer look "high tech".

Now everything "high tech" looks like just kore generic sci-fi junk, smooth edges on everything, organic designs, smaller, streamlined, buzz word, and honestly at this point it's all generic, none of it has any flair anymore because it's the "safe thing to do", make it all look the same and don't innovative, it sells, why fix what ain't broke.

The 80s-90s “sci-fi” “future” tech looks far cooler and more advanced-at least to me-than the vast majority of what we have now. Retro-tech also looks more durable than modern.
The analogue era: Time period in which YOU, not the company or any other entity had PHYSICAL CONTROL over what to do with the data or content you acquired online, or offline.
We used floppy discs in elementary school! And my first portable cd player, I thought I was the baddest kid. Ah, simpler times.
I forgot how tack-tile everything used to be.. the buttons, sliders and knobs.. not to mention the mechanical wiring, clicks, beeps. Amazing to be able to look back at such a different time.
The details on the animation are just amazing, from led lights, spinning components, screen flickering and overlay text on displays! All of this is a 20 to 30 year old animation...
I miss those good old pressing animations 90s style.
This brought more joy to me than a meaningful relationship.
Color me pissed when every modern anime just goes full 3D on anything machinery and everything tech related were a smartphone.
Wow, that was a trip down memory lane ;) I do not miss having to clean tape heads & guides, or clean early year floppy drive heads.
The craftmanship in Anime simply peaked in the late 80s and early 90s...
Kids today wouldn't know what most of these things are. Optical discs? Cassettes? VCRs? Handset telephones? 5.25 or 3.5" disks? BOOMBOX? lol 🤣

Honestly, I’m gen alpha and I know what all these things are, my dad collects them and we play them sometimes
素晴らしい❤よくこれだけの動画集めましたね‼️
I’ve either had many of those devices when I was young or I had the privilege to experience many of them! Some were extremely expensive to obtain and some were very affordable. Love those animated flicks.
it wouldn´t surprise me if anime of this type inspired a lot of people into becoming electronic engineers.
This brings back a lot of nostalgia. In the future I hope people run 640×480 VHS rips (and maybe 1920x1080 DVD rips) through upscalers like Retrotink 4K *with CRT scanline emulation enabled* and record the 4K output to digital files for distribution online. We're at a point we're scalines can be represented pretty well in 4K recordings.
Thank you! Nothing compares to the style of 80s Japanese electronics and the way it's depicted in anime is amazing.

I'm so glad KZread was nice to me for once and recommended me this channel. I'm a sucker for detailed machinery in anime but only found some clips out of context here and there. Most of the time even without the name of the anime and no matter how many keywords I used, Google only showed me mecha anime in general. Thank you for archiving so many highlights and providing the sources to boot.

I'm grateful for your backing! It's a pleasure to offer highlights and sources for those who share my love for detailed machinery in anime. :*

@@hanahakiblank are those run through some kind of Upscaler/clean up? some of those movies/series are almost impossible to get in the west and this looks way better than bootleg dvds or old VHS
主さんのチョイスする曲もまた最高なんよ。 サイバーパンク的?ダフトパンク的な? ジャンルがわからないのだけども 音楽もかなり好きです。

I will be watching this on repeat
Now I gotta go buy a walkman.
I just subbed today and yes as someone who grew up in the 90s this video is such a nostalgia hit amazing work putting this together most of these would seem like such ancient technology to the younger generation but back in the day these machines were state of the art.
the hand drawn level of details is so mesmerizing even in every frame
Thanks a lot. Its AMAZING how more realistic, or mabey more artistic, the old anime style is. I like it when old "things" tech shows realistic, like "Alien" movies (old ones).

You're very welcome!
I like the idea of new considerations forcing a partial regression to older form factors. Easiest example would be, secure information needing a physical handoff & sheathe, which then resembles a 3.5" floppy or a cassette shape.
もう大好きなんよ
Love these edits, Make some great Visual reference.

A mecha anime is not complete without a "ROCK ON" command.
My only compliant is that there's no shot of Shinji's Walkman in NGE section
We gotta get a 2-3 hour loop of this one😂

I miss the feel and probable closeness of 90's Futurism. StarCraft, Cowboy Bebop, The Fifth Element, Men in Black and even The Matrix showed what capabilities we could have had in advancement of the same tech rather than consistent new tech. Kind of a problem when your in a generation where new tech is no longer exciting, but expected.
That is awesome. Could you make a true 4:3 only version ? Would look so neat on a 4:3 crt ... edit: your channel is so cool, subbed.

Thank you! I did try making a true 4:3 version before, but it usually reduces the video quality. Glad you like the channel and thanks for subscribing!❤❤
Life without smartphones......
as someone who grew up in the 80s and 90s this is pure nostalgia for me in so many ways, from the Hand Drawn detail and style we never see anymore, to the fact that at some point I either owned or interacted with all that old Tech!
