ProfNCog used a heap of hoppers and found the fish would swim away and avoid them. He had to do just over 30kts to be able to catch them in the hopper. There was so much weight and drag that he had to add lots of floats and a jet engine and ended up turning into a submarine in order to achieve that. I'm thinking a single hopper with some light low drag blocks to build a funnel that you can tow might work as a net, but youll likely still need to do 30 knots to make it work.

What about a fishing torpedo that targets fish, but instead of a warhead you have a hopper?

So you can actually shoot fish. Interesting... Time to equip the fishing boats with grenades and warheads.

For the hoppers You need to put the at hopper at minimum 5 meters under water 😉

spear fishing was a thing before the update but you couldent pick up the fish and the species wernt labled

and realystic fish pawning like not(freshwater) pike and(saltwater) spadefish in the same enviorment »pelagic fish: deeep sea »reef fish: shallow sea »freshwater fish in well freshwater even cave fish maybe..!

Man they really need to add Nets and long line fishing to the game now.

i think you can make a net of wedges, big enough so fish trying to avoid it can't escape it however i am not sure how their escape algorithm might work if it treats just some bounding boxes (then this method won't work) or actual shape of boat
