@@leon22333 Because she wasn't supposed to be there, period. Her place was on a white chair, under the tent with the rest of the county dignitaries. Dan Patrick and the other men were chosen to present flags to the grieving family.

The family had a place, the comrades had a place and the judge was out of place. The family lived with him, the comrades worked with him so how is it that she has a deserving presence at this officers service? Complete disrespect, they should have had her removed. If she shows up at a random funeral and sit up front with the family it's the same type of disrespect and disregard for the deceased. She was welcomed but not to be in the forefront with his loved ones, that's definitely disrespectful!

Not only were the law enforcement community disrespected most importantly the officers family were dishonored and disrespected and that is beyond non-acceptable behavior! Her ego has grown to a point where she needs to step down. Part of the reason citizens and law enforcement aren't safe is due to murderers and violent criminals being given low bonds,or bonds at all then being released to do the same or worse violent crimes causing the death or injury of innocent lives! When does it stop? It's every day! Speak up Houston and surrounding areas!

@@iuyozx She is a dignitary for the City of Houston and Represents the City of Houston. She is doing the proper thing and showing Houston's support for a fallen officer. Nothing but respect is all it is. Traditionally you're supposed to stand anyways. My dad never let me sit during an outdoor funeral. Stood and saluted the whole time of the funeral. He was a man of law, honor, and Vietnam Vet. He also loved Hidalgo. I can't believe the Republican discord that is going on in this country, from idiots like Patrick. They want to succeed from the Union. My dad would've grabbed him by his pencil throat on the spot if he heard what he said at the funeral. Patrick never fought for anything about this country. Never served, never went to war. Just eating the fruits. He was a good man, my dad. Never disrespected anyone but fought for what was right and taught me the same thing. What Patrick did at the funeral was not right. It was wrong. He needs to go.

Nothing quite like a county judge essentially screaming "Look At Me! Look At Me!" during the funeral for a fallen law enforcement officer. Will she next insist on delivering his eulogy? Perhaps she will next insist the flag, formerly draped over this hero's coffin, be given to her. Police officers are killed every year because Harris County judges let criminals out on bail when they could keep them incarcerated, and then they have the nerve to grandstand at the funerals of officers who deaths, on some occasions, were caused by the decisions of these liberal judges. Say, wonder what party nominates judges who are this inconsiderate, rude, selfish and narcissistic?

I really really hope her political career ends soon. She has put a lot of people in dire straits and small businesses out in the county and now this! Have some dignity and respect!

For those of you that just don’t see why the problem is…..you have likely never been in charge of a funeral, or had to make all those final decisions for a very close loved one. Because you would know that having someone, for the purposes of the metaphor imagine it is that cousin, aunt, or sister in law that you can’t stand…..now imagine this person who never visited, never called, hell they didn’t even bring a casserole, but they want to sit on the front pew, or they make a big show of crying and wailing like a banshee and you KNOW it’s an act….that is basically what this woman did. She had no standing with the family to be there, she is not a cop, not a real judge (no law school for her), and I don’t see her getting invited out for drinks with the men and women in blue. I know politicians don’t get this, on either side of the aisle really, but sometimes there is honor in taking a seat and just listening. What she did, was dishonorable.

A county judge doesn’t preside over a court. They’re administrators basically. Not sure why they’re called judges even. Hidalgo didn’t even go to law school.

She's a disgrace Hidalgo should not have been there at all. When have you ever see other county judges take photo ops on a fallen officers funeral? Dang at least the mayor wasn't doing what she was doing by standing at the honor guard line.
