I doubt you would want a mother like her. She speaks of her own mother not having time for her. Of course she does not complain about it. She also emphasizes that she made the choice to pursue her career and interests and not have children. So, I think better to find these ideals and be inspired by them then wish they were our mothers.

They edited this to keep it a certain length, I think. . . wish they'd have left in whatever she said, even if it meandered a bit off topic. She's interesting enough that I want to hear her!! The interviewer isn't interrupting her, it's the way in which this was edited.

The interviewer is far from rude, and is a fine interviewer. Anyone not understanding the interviewing and filming and editing process might consider remaining silent. Better yet - contact the producers and ask that the edited out portions be shown on another youtube episode.

So many negative comments about the interviewer, Debra. But these come from people who are ignorant of the interviewing process. The interviewer is one of the best I have seen. She had done her work prior to the interview. She knew her subject, and Apfel's history. I give Debra 5 stars.I would like to see the portions that were edited out for time, if that film is still available.
