A fan-favorite, and Patricia Heaton's personal favorite episode, which also won her her first Emmy. 🏆 To the best of my knowledge, there was a deleted cold open with Debra snapping at Ray. Ray goes to check the calendar and to his horror sees that it's that time of the month. Wish it was kept in.

So. Freaking. RELATABLE. This is what PMS is. You aren't angry over "nothing." You're angry about things that always annoyed you, but you don't have the self control to just let it go, so you just blow up.

One of the Best! Pat was EPIC in this, no wonder she got a reward! And Marie just slapping Ray was SWEET. It was really one of the few times Marie took Debra side over Ray. And I know people say Debra is being mean, but keep in mind on how much deals with. She puts up with her kids, in-laws (especially Marie) holding in all that anger. And Debra isn't perfect I know, but Ray doesn't make it easy for her. He is lazy, childish, pessimistic, self-centred, and insensitive. Subconsciously wishes she would take care of him, like his mother did for him. Is also hypocritical when she was wants to something, like being alone or going shopping, he complains, whereas he goes off to play golf or something else. He takes his wife for granted a lot, doesn't think twice before throwing her in front of a bus to make himself look good.

I don't blame Ray for going golfing, to get away from smart eleck. She always puts Ray down. She thinks that she is so darned smart, but I don't think she is. I threaten to stop watching the show because of the way she always puts Ray down, but of course so does Robert because he is so jealous. I don't know why I'm still watching that show. Ray finally lost it and is telling Debra what he thinks about the way she treats him. It's really too much,. She treats him awful. She's sicking.

Ray big problem is a) he's a total momma's boy and b) he never helps Debra with ANYTHING around the house. He makes Debra feel unappreciated and he's not even sentimental enough to celebrate things important to her. My mother taught me to be participant in the household. On top of mowing the lawn, and keeping the cars fueled and maintained, I clean the counters and the bathrooms, sweep, vacuum, I grocery shop, I clean and cut the chicken and fish and lamb, I wash the pots the pans, I load, run, empty and reload the dishwasher. I even cook some meals. It makes life easier, plus I burn off my excess energy. BTW, my partner still loses it on occasion over the most trivial things more so during certain timeframes of each month...but I understand the biochemical impact. She also understands (to some degree) my sometimes 20-30 mins trips to the bathroom and my 30 min showers.

Ray was disappointed in her for mocking him in front of strangers, but she apologized afterward. I still feel Debra shouldn't humiliate him in front of his guests despite his lethargic attitude. honestly there is a level of realism if that time is too much to handle, everyone is different and can go from this or worst, or just wanting to take a nap. It's very common to not hear the side of the significant other, or male at all to think it's worth listening too. I thinking hearing another woman would be the best way to look at oneself. I mean if you heard the tape recorder, we can be a little realistic and see you need help sometimes.

If a guy slapped, pushed into a wall or elbowed a woman in the crotch he would be done and ostracized. @@krystal9256 agreed. this epitomizes how men are portrayed in media, and how it seems stupidly acceptable to ridicule them and verbally and even physically abuse them. NOT COOL AT ALL.

I don’t see where this has anything to do with PMS. Ray just never cut the umbilical cord and wants his wife to be his mother. It should be unacceptable for him to be such a slob and not even bothering to help clean.

Debra thinks that she knows it all. She treats Ray terrible. She's always putting him down, and acting as if he doesn't know anything, but that she knows it all. I don't like her. They should get another girl to replace her.I don't like her at all. I'm getting sick of the show, because of Debra.

So when guys hormones act up and we look at another sexy woman, we should control ourselves. But when women’s hormones act up, it’s not their fault and men should be understanding. For those of you who think it’s not the same or fair, take that up with Mother Nature. It’s not our job to compensate for biology.
