There’s nothing metal about just because she screams for a moment in the song. The music determines the genre, not the vocal style. I’m not sure what the specific type of pop you call this as it’s not my genre but you could say it’s pop music with minor influences from hardcore

​@@squalor5515 The vocal decides the music as much as the music. At what point BMTH remain metal, considering their pop mix nowadays? What about Architects with their softer sound? After all the guitar is almost diluted into the industrial ambience. The there is Myrkur - too much folk influence to be black metal? The closet pop genre to this may be dark pop, but then again it cannot account for the scream and (death metal-ish) drumming/beat at the end. I wrote that comment exactly because I am a metalhead and I say I can hear the influence. Of course, like you said, there is some hardcore in this too.

Love the experimentation with the screams. Now all we need is for Romy to work with some metal musicians and put out an experimental album that combines her sound with a heavier feel.

As cool as that would sound I think what makes Romy so amazing is how her screaming works with the music as is. I think if she was accompanied by typical metal instruments she'd be just another cute metal singer. Here she is a bad ass queen with a unique style.
