Mine was just as bad, like 5 to 10 times a day, 06, f250 super duty crew, 4x4, 102,000 miles. Replaced the track bar bushing, steering stabilizer, and both tie rod ball joints, about $160.00 in parts. Problem solved.

I had the same issue with my truck and replaced the inner and outer tie rods and did an alignment then I replaced steering box and swaybar end links but I am rwd but still had death wobble at around 60 mph after all that good to go no more wobble

Had the same issue, death wobble on my F250 Lariat SRW short wheelbase bone stock. Tried replacing shocks, steering stabilizer, rotated better tires to the front, manually aligned the front wheels a little better, nothing. Then swapped to a visibly beefier Bilstein 5100 steering stabilizer. The torque required to install it was almost 3x more than the stock steering stabilizer - I could see it was heavier duty. Death wobble went away.

Inner outer wheel bearings I just Replaced mine not to bad just make sure you have bearing socket remover and remove 4x4 hub..

I have an 04 F250, With a new steering damper and a new track bar installed with no results

Not really, these things are always prone to death wobble because of the solid axle and inability to tune caster

2015 F250 106,000 miles started getting the death wobble over a few weeks. I called a local shop and they told me they would have to change everything but still could not guarantee it would fix it. I inspected everything under there and could not find one worn out item. My shocks where bad so I replaced all 4 shocks and steering damper, this did help but did not stop it. There was a little play in my linkage, so I started replacing one item at a time trying to find out what was causing it. I replaced both tie rod ends and the complete drag link and that did not help. The next thing I replaced which should have been the first was the track bar, it did not fix it. I had a 4' long 600# torque wrench for this this task, and it was all I could do to get it to 406# of torque. My ball joints and bearing are very tight so I was at a loss as to what to do next, something caused it but I could not fix it, so I just decided to try and mask it. I ordered the "Rancho RS98510 Steering Stabilizer Kit" and this has stopped it from happening! My tires still have about 20,000 to 30,000 miles on them and all look the same, I even had them balanced and inspected at Discount tire. The only thing I can come up with is about 2 months ago I removed all my tires and stored them in my garage over night for a break job. The next day when I went to put them back on, I was not 100 percent which side they came from so I just put them back on and figured nothing would happen. I'm pretty sure it is my tires that are causing it because of what I did, lesson learned. I plan on when I get new tires to put the original damper back on to see if that is true or not. Good Luck!

I ended up putting new tires on my truck and removed the stabilizer kit and it was fine for about a month before the wobble was back. I put the stabilizer kit back on and the wobble went away again. I ended up with another issue in the steering, after a few month with the kit back on, the steering got sluggish. I thought maybe one of the ball joints was going bad or something. I crawled under there a few times over the next month trying to figure out what was causing the sluggish steering. I could not find anything that looked bad, like grease coming out of one of the new ball joint boots or something. This was driving me crazy and I hated the way it steered. Finally one day I hit a good bump in the road and the steering got more sluggish so I got back under there to inspect again. This time I noticed the Ranchero bracket that the 2 stabilizers attach to had dropped down and was riding on top of the tie rod bar. I loosened the U-bolts and rotated the bracket back up about a inch above the tie rod bar, re-torqued the U-bolts again and went for a test drive. This fixed the sluggish steering and now the truck drives like it was new again. I will have to figure out a way to keep that bracket from dropping back down on top of the tie rod bar.

Yep I been working on these sinse the 40s. looks like you need a blowoff valve and a new battery should fix er. May need a good water fuel separator as well.

Pat Delaney drag link. Just a heads up if you've been running it worn for any decent amount of time replace the pitman arm as well.

Pat Delaney that is the drag link. I just replaced both inner drag link and outter drag link. The long piece that connect to the pitman arm is the inner drag link and the outter link is connect at the tie rod end. Note. Buy the adjustment sleeve as well so you can match the length much more precise. That was my problem. I bought the outter and inner drag link but not the sleeve so when I piece it all together I have to remember the amount of turn and overall length and everything. By the way, even after replacing outter and inner drag link and right tie rod end and wheel alignment my truck still have death wobble. I really think it's the tires now. My front tires are worn a little unevenly and I think that is the cause of it.

Hello I like to start by saying that today was the scariest day of my life I never experienced this no matter how many times I've driven my Ford truck until now makes me want to go back to Chevy which I think I might have to do because I was with my family and kids and all of a sudden my 92 Ford flareside started shaking real violently it almost threw me off the road I grabbed a hold of myself so I was able to slow down and get my truck home I thoroughly inspected it couldn't find nothing really wrong with it tell a friend of mine had told me that he had gone through something called the death wobble for those of you that don't know what the death wobble is it's I guess it's when all your bushings or things happen to to wear out on your truck without you knowing and you're driving 35 to 65 mph maybe even on the freeway with 75 your truck will start shaking by any in the front as if you're about ready to flip over or something I just want to start by saying that I'm grateful that I'm still here and my wife is here and my kids but I know one thing you know I'm 53 years old and for this to happen to me in a Ford you know which the truck that I love I'm going to have to say goodbye to it I was planning on buying a brand new Ford next year but because of this I think I want to go back go to Chevy you know just really scared the hell out of me I wish I would have known about something like this that could possibly happen and what to look for but you know what I was never told about it so if any of you out there that are looking to buy a Ford remember there's something called the death wobble and that's where basically that's what it says I mean you're facing death after a violent shake wobble in your front tires you know Ford I don't know if they've done anything about it or there's been a lawsuits or people that have actually died of this but you know shame on you forward for for not making this a public thing you know for hey come by this 20-22 forward but wait a minute you may experience the death wobble well I hope I was able to help some people out there and if I'm hated because of this well hey this is America you know I'm an American citizen and I got the right to free speech thank you Google thank you anybody out there that's going to hear this and read this God bless you God bless America and God bless my family goodbye

Well, there's your problem, it has to be running to replicate the wobble.

This is my Dads truck. yes he fixed it. he replaced many parts. both upper and lower ball joints, the dampener shock, and many more parts in front. all that WAS a waste of time and money. the issue was the front tires. YES THE FRONT TIRES. if this happens to you rotate your front tires to the back. make sure they have really good tread on them not low on air and are balance really well. the tires are Michelin AT2 20 in rims. now he doesn't use those anymore. he switched to Nitto grappler 2???? now the truck has 134k miles as of Sept 1 2016.

I put the Nitto's on mine but the wobble came back when the edges worn down. Odd thing is that it happens when I hit a bridge expansion joint turning slightly left...

Makes sense because the front tires will wear on the inner part of the tire which would cause that wobble alot also has to due with bad tie rods,ball joints,shocks and springs"coils or leaf springs"

I played it at .25 speed and it looks like its all coming from the pitman/steering arm being transferred to the steering box. I'd say the box is to slack or the arm is to short. If the pitman arm was longer the leverage would be totally different. Better worse I don't know,not an engineer. All I know is Ford builds some overpriced Shit boxes.

This shit just started happening to me, there's a bracket by the passenger side tire that holds the track bar and tie rod. It looks like it's welded on to the axle and on the back is the sway bar. Well the front side that holds the track bar and tie rod split in half and my track bar was basically just hanging there. I have a 2003 ford f250, I've seen another video with a guy saying that the bracket breaking is a common problem with fords

I would if Cummins powered. Im actually a SBC and LS fanatic. Howerver. I tried pulling a 49foot Sea Ray Sedan Bridge boat out with the owners Tuned Duramax Allison 1000 Dually and it wouldn't do it with full boost. The Cummins in 1st gear pulled her out fine. I like the ride better on GM's front independent suspension as well. Ram and Super Duty have still have solid front axle suspensions and forces us to keep everything perfect. It's a solid axle thing.
