What a surprisingly well made and delightful little film for 1950s TV, my childhood was watching 50s tv, but I missed this one, maybe it never came to England, many did!

Many of these shows were taken from a period from 1850 to 1900. My grandmother who died when I was 10, was born in 1877. My grandfather I think in 1876. So they were alive when the people portraid in this video were alive. Makes it more interesting.

The lady dishing the borax into the washer by hand reminds me of an old friends wife (from Hokaido Japan) who would add spices to meals by simply measuring them in her hand. Always came out perfect.

Rosemary De Camp - the housewife/movie/TV star in the commercial - played Peg Riley in the Life of Riley sitcom, one of the earliest and best of these, opposite Wm. Bendix (What a revolting development THIS is!)

The way they speak of Minnie (who of course is ACTUALLY a white woman doing "Brown Face"; or some idiots would say "RED Face") is appalling and makes me cringe. It's awful that they were pretty much showing people that this behavior is okay. Other than that - it's a cute show.
