Optimal strategy: The moment CaptainSparklez got that bucket of lava he should have dug straight down, put the lava above him, and blocked it with a wood block or two. And just replaced the wood blocks every time it burned through.

Even then, (my Skype group and I, we absolutely despise 1.9 just for the combat update. Yet the new blocks and mobs are cool.) you shouldn't have to wait like forever (1.5 seconds) to swing a weapon/tool. If they fixed it, a lot more people would like 1.9, my Skype group included

Eroe é Capo354 its actually not that much of a problem cause it doesn't effect breaking blocks and on combat it gives the player more variety e.g an axe is really good if you want to kill something that has medium health because of the high amount of damage (and if you play pvp ih also has an advantage over players with shield) the hoe is a good way to keep the enemy away from you bacause you can spam it and the sword is the best for normal combat because it does the most damage per second the only tool (that got a change) that i don't know any real (combat) use for is the pickaxe because it is slow and doesn't deal that much damage

Good ol' times, I'd love to see you play more with Antvenom!

So... Easiest tactic either could have done at some point (as both eventually had buckets and access to lava) would be to just dig straight down (possibly doing the double block method to prevent killing themselves), preventing the other from going anywhere very easily when they swap, then placing lava a little up (preferably doing their best to time it and waiting until the last second), or even burying themselves under a one block roof with lava immediately above so they don't actually kill themselves, but' so it would fall if the other broke the block (which they'd need to do to pillar out). You really just need to go down a couple of blocks for this. They could also try the bucket method to create an obsidian wall to force the other a certain direction, but what are the odds they'll think to dig far enough around that the lava won't reach them while they escape the hole (or will even have enough time to fully escape, depending on how far down you get)

Note: this is extremely difficult. 1. Get the Elytria. 2. Get to a tall mountain and glide off. 3. Stay as high as possible until the switch. 4. Other player will fall and probably die.

I had a brilliant idea for them. Take a lava bucket, and get a few pieces of iron ore, mine a wall, put the lava down and quickly stop it with the iron ore and wait for the other to mine it...

This is a real throwback right here right here mmmhmmmm
