i think that if you die in this game, you get reborn, hence the fetuses everyone carry around. that fetus is probably them , like their extra life. and maybe being caught by those monsters make you unable to be reborn and you die forever ?

I understand a lot more now, actually. Those baby capsules, for example. My guess is that somehow they feel those... things much better than grown-ups and that flashlight is working on their reflexes of some sort, so it starts to beam intensively when baby feels that "shadow" thing. It's much more into setting now, not super abstract as first trailers and sure as hell it will be used as gameplay mechanics.

Kojima explained about it a little in an interview actually - It's called Timefall; rainfall, but rain from another dimension. It accelerates time for any object it comes into contact with. That's also why at the start of the video the plants are growing super fast. I'm pretty sure the reason Sam (Reedus) and other guy aren't affected by it is because they are wearing hoods. Which is kinda funny considering that a hood doesn't really do much to keep rain off your face, especially if you ever have to look up lol. You'd think they'd need some kind of mask or helmet

I agree. It’s either a detection device or they use it to as a decoy. In the last trailer the old man had a baby too. The baby was not visible until he started getting covered in that black stuff. Same thing happens here. Baby shows up when the black liquid does. In the last trailer a broken baby doll was pulled rather then the old man and his baby. Maybe the babies are just machines created and not actually babies. Since in the last trailer the broken baby doll looked like the ones in the containers but you could see all the wires.

If you want to be passive and watch a story, there's movies. Games are for gameplay, they let you be in control. The more you're able to do, the better. So far Death Stranding is just being a movie. What we dont have enough of these days are ganes that profoundly affect you or the way you think. So seeing a gameplay trailer is kinda irrelevant. I love how Kojima directed his cut-scene. It has it own feeling to it. You need to just glanced at it and you know that it's him that directed. The feeling of watching a home video. Shaking camera when they turn, move but not much to make you motion sick. Love this kind of direction he's been doing. Again. God bless, Kojima.

They are honestly probably working on the next silent hill this whole time. Canceling Silent Hills/PT was just to get rid of Kojima and crew. Why might I say that? I feel like Metal Gear Survive, a small game small team thing, is just to stall while they are making the next silent hill. Honestly, Hideo Kojima just needs a large budget, and he could direct films. It's so awesome to see his love for cinematography and film in the way the scenes are staged and how the camera moves as if it's being held by a camera man. Also, just some of the sequences are so well done, like when the one guy attempts to commit suicide, then he's prevented by being literally turned heels over head, and the entities start carrying him off. That was... my lord, Hideo, give us more, this is genius. I also like how no one saw the phantom guy on top of the bus, who's obviously Mads Mikkelsen's character. It's interesting he had a detection device on his shoulder, as well. So, he's either been there (in this alternate dimension) quite some time, like he was sent there first with a recon team before the Porters, or he's been twisted by the other side. I also want to know why the babies in synthetic wombs are crucial to the story. It seems to imply some sort of rebirth. Eitherway, oh man, Hideo, we want more.

You do realize that creating a AAA game like this costs just as much, if not more than most blockbuster movies? Kojima just isn't interested in actual cinema from what I've read about him. Actual actors, yes, but not cinematography.

Anyone notice my wording of "could direct films" instead of "should"? C'mon guys, it's Hideo Kojima, probably one of the most prolific figures in the game development industry... it's obvious he aspired to be a film maker, but took his interest and applied it to game design because the medium had never offered that level of cinematic immersion or experience. Audiences play games mostly for the escapism and power fantasies they provide, much more so than a film, though films offer a cinematic style that can aid in the immersion of gameplay, and Kojima saw that. I understand Kojima does this stuff on the regular, I'm just praising how well it's done here, and how much respect he shows to the art of film making. Yeah, like I didn't pick up MGS5 when it was free on PlayStation Plus. Like, come on. It doesn't take neuroscience degree and a magic tome to see where he should focus that talent. (Sigh)... the internet. I'm just excited for Death Stranding, all the theories that have circulated about this game and its plot are nuts. This is going to be a treat. With nothing (ahem, KOJIMA, ahem) to hold him back Hideo is going to be spitting out new IP's right and left. What a time to be alive.

Can't wait! I hope it comes out next year.

So, a quick theory. I may be wrong, but doesn't that ending shot look like an impact crater? If life was created by the first explosion, then death was created by the second, could this be hinting that a meteor struck the earth, carrying with it an alien virus and/or some unwelcome passengers? What happens if life in this game was orchestrated by these beings, who later returned to 'harvest' this life once it had grown/evolved? Kind like a giant planet farm... I can't say where the heck that baby fits into it yet, but I'm guessing he is one important kid - maybe Norman Reedus is his avatar! :)

I'd say it's not far off to say that these entities are divine beings, maybe even angels, and that this whole event is comparable to a "rapture". At the very least it could be a metaphor for it. The fetal child could also be an alogory for Christ.

Ares90210 I've watched this trailer twice so far. So much information packed into 7 minutes that it's hard to get lost in it. You can gather quite a bit about the game by watching this. If you didn't put together the plot by the time it got to the "Arizona" scene, you should go back and keep watching.

I’m excited for this game! The storyline is what’s drawing me in so much, I want to know more, I want to see what’s happening and why. What are the aliens, the hands? They float oh god. Like it’s drawing me in and I want more! It’s an ambitious project
